Plenty of long titles on here. Like this.

Anyone know of tests comparing this HSF to any of the ThermalRight SK/SLK's, or Zalman CNPS7000A?

AMD didn't do Socket 370.

It will be much longer if you add this: Application for AMD Athlon XP up to 3400+, Fan Dimension: 80x80x25, Heatsink Dimension:82x70x49mm (41 fins), Rated Voltage: 12V, Started Voltage 7V, Rated Current: 0.13A, Power Input 1.56W, Fan Speed: 2450?0% RPM, Max Air Flow: 27.5 CFM, Air Pressure: 25.97 Pa-min, Noise Level: 21dBA, Bearing Type: Hydro Wave Bearing, Life Time: 50,000 hours, Connector: 3pin
OH, may be add shipping to that too if it's not long enough.

Got it today for my brothers 2100+@2.45GHz... i took off the original fan and put a 36cfm fan instead and its running about 5-6 degrees hotter than the Vantec Aeroflow that was on it before. Room temp is a little warm at 85f...

If your room is at 85C, you probably want to get out of there quickly. It's going to kill you.

Had you tested it with the original fan?

I'm thinking of getting this heatsink.

Couple of questions for those that have gotten it...

1) Does thermal paste come with it or do I need to buy it seperate?

2) I have an Abit NS7-s with a Barton 2500+. Am I going to need a copper shim that I've seen some website push you to get when buying a HSF?

Thanks

1- it comes with some but youd be best off to pick up some arctic silver 3

2- im running the same setup without a shim. you only need a shim if youre really concerned about breaking the cpu

Mine actually didn't come with any thermal paste... and looking at neweggs pictures, SVC, and other resellers' description... they don't mention any thermal paste coming with the package either.

Yep... its 1-2c warmer... anyway... i put the aeroflow back on and its cooling 5c cooler again. weird... both the reviews i read looked like this one would perform better... since it was all copper. Interesting though is... its very light... much lighter than my SK7 despite having more fins. The bottom couldve used some lapping but i didnt feel it was worth the 1-2c difference. oh well... back to the aeroflow.

Thanks for the reply boyracer, I was thinking of jumping on this deal. I have a aeroflow on my 2200@2000GHz too. I am 42C idle and 48.5 full load. My motherboard is reading 32 C. My house is a little warm too.

Guess I have to keep looking. Still not sure if I should get different HSF or just deal.

I have no idea what I'm talking about? Maybe your fry's is just being d1cks. but i never had a problem returning anything, I even gotten credit back from a CF card that broke in a 6 months period.

Why not just buy a wheelchair?

So does a SK-7 with a panaflo fan equal to the silent boost fan cool better than the Thermaltake Silent Boost unit?

thats odd, it should. its just a little thing, maybe you didnt notice it. all tt hsfs come w/paste...in face every hsf ive bought comes with it thus far.

I have purchased four TT heatsinks. In my experience, TT = all hype and all garbage. I see no reason to get this over a SK7 and Panaflo.

Don't forget, you can mount an 80mm fan on a SK6+ by turning it diagonally.

here's the best prices i found on some of these heatsinks:
slk-700 for $27 at hardcorecooling with a YSTech TMD 74 mm fan. can get it for $21 w/v fan at case-mod.com
sk-7 for $16 at svc
panaflo l1a for $3.49 at case-mod
TT smart case fan II-$15 w/coolmod at svc, $12 w/v at xpcgear, case-mod

hmmm... but what if you add a duct like this guy. at the bottom of the page is a link to a fairly large comparison review.

I imagine it would help some. If nothing else, it would help to eliminate the "dead zone" that is inherent to case fans.
