Yeah, it's a fan question. What do you guys think of the TT Smart Fan II? The specs look pretty sweet with up to 75.7 CFM at 4800 RPM!!! (of course that's also 48db) How's this thing perform paired with an SK-7? With it operating off the thermistor would you consider it a "quiet" fan? I'm hoping to take a 1700+ to 2.1-2.2GHz with this combo.. can I do it staying below like 35dB?

The other fans I'm considering is the classic L1A or an 80mm Aluminum fan rated at 32 CFM. Thanks for the advice!!

My sk7 seems to perform the same with a 39cfm sunon as a SF II @ 75cfm. At max speed the SF II is very loud with an annoying whine so I just bump it down to 3000~ rpm / 50cfm~ and it works fine for the noise level. I haven't used the temp controlled option yet because I never want to hear the fan at full speed again :Q

I consider the SF II dangerous due to the unbelievable current draw... 8.4W! To put that into perspective, the highest-output 120mm fan that's commonly available for computer use draws 7.9W while pushing 125cfm. Some people try powering the SF II from a 3-pin header and (naturally) fry their motherboard's header.

I'd aim people towards the YS Tech adjustable-RPM 80mm fan, which will definitely get you to the point of decreasing returns at its full speed, about 50cfm. Just don't accidentally crank it down to its minimum speed, which is very slow.

it's an excellent fan, the power draw is a lot but it gets hooks up straight to the PSU and if you have a quality PSU, it's nothing

Gr8 fan and "smart" (though i use it @ full speed) but should be used with a powerful PSU (400&up)
(watch out for the sensor it breaks easely...)

It's pretty good, no complaints here . The sensor works pretty good in my book. When my side case cover was off I was gettin around 38C which resulted in a 2700-2800 rpm but now since I put the cover on I get around 41C which upped the fan rpm to 3000 (which is barely noticeable to me).

Liking the sf2 right now. Paired with a tt900-slk and it runs from near silent to a hairdryer on medium.

Smart fan works for me, But I'd stay clear of the thermister controlled option as I find its always running somewhat fast. Instead I'd manually control the speed to where you can get a good amount of airflow at minimal noise. I slow mine down until it blends in with the sound of the other case fans and PSU.
Just woke up from a night of running CPU burn in and memory tests, and everything is a go. I got my barton 2500+ at 400FSBX11.
Plus it looks cool.
