OK, so this is taken from the ad on the Anandtech page, but I and others may not have noticed this unless it's pointed out. This is a great price on a very well reviewed CPU cooler, this is the 7+! Pricewatch has it for $43 and newegg.com has it for $49. Wish I could get one for this price in Europe.
Sorry here's a link:

Yes, the Thermalright AX-7 is probably the best heatsink out now, but the price of the heatsink is about the price of this whole cooler. I will probably be getting a AX-7 myself though... I think newegg has it for $28.00

If this cooler is anywhere near as loud as the 6+, you may want to invest in active noise cancelling headgear for your whole family. I have the Volcano 6, though, which is not so loud & a great value at $12.99 at your local Fry's. (probably no Fry's in Europe either - sry GetInBelly).

Being from L.A., I'm very familiar with Fry's, great return policy, good prices, fine selection, lousy customer service. I miss it here. I have installed the 6cu+ and yes that thing is louder than the getto birds (police helicopters) flying around east of Robertson Blvd. at night. The 7+ one comes with a 3 speed switch, so at the lower setting it's very quiet from the reviews I've read.
Does anyone know if this 3 speed switch is available seperately and if it will work with other fans?
For those looking for a quiet 80mm fan, I've read that the Everflow is almost silent, think it's also made by Thermaltake, but it won't fit the 7+ (70mm), but will fit the Volcan 7 (which at the higher speed is supposed to be very loud, but at the lower speed, I find it quiet).

I have the 6cu+ on my athlon 1700xp+. Louder than hell but it's keeping my investment nice and cool. I'm only running my cpu with the 6cu+ and a single 80mm case fan. I know it's not good but I'll get 2 more fans in a few days.

I actually have the Volcano 7+, and used to have the Volcano 6Cu+. The noise difference is dramatic. After making the switch, I can actually hear my hard drive again. And I get the same idle/load temps with both coolers (the 6Cu+ being at 7000rpm, and the 7+ at 3500rpm). Too bad I didn't get it for $29.99 though (I paid $45 when it first came out). I highly recommend this deal.

I had the Alpha PAL8942 Xtreme Kit, w/50cfm Sunon for about 4 days now. Superior heatsink compared to the Volcano 7+.
You can get it here as well: Alpha

He said PCclub, so you could go here and click on CPU's and then cooling fans (or something like that). Or perhaps this direct link will work.

Would you like it cheaper, how's $17.99 for the VOLCANO 7+ sound?!? Go to this forum, DSLR Users find Hot Deals, and check out the deal. They are not in stock but someone said they called and they have 200 on order with 66 so far that are allocated. The person also stated they "should" be due in this week, keep in mind that dates of delivery from the manufacturer aren't always correct.

My order came out to $27.45 ($17.99 HSF + $8.00 S/H + $1.46 TAX), with tax because it's in Arizona where I live.

The review on this HSF looks great - all copper w/ shaved fins & sweet test results. Would be a great deal at $26 shipped from TCcomputers

I've got the Volcano 6 Cu (NOT the +). It spins much more slowly than the + (around 4500 RPM) and is much more quiet as well. I have nothing but good things to say about it. My CPU (XP 1600) runs at around 40 degrees. I expect nothing but better things from the 7+.

I believe this is a better heatsink, although a tad more expensive. http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/subcat.php?cat=1013

Of course, what you can do is just use your old 80mm fan on this sucka. And it has a clip that holds all three lugs on the socket. For such a heavy heatsink, I think this should be a big peace of mind for you guys.

fountain valley fry's has it for $25.99, so I'm heading there after work. yay!

edit: not so sure anymore. called in the afternoon and they said they had the 7+ for $25.99, but dropped by after work and they couldn't find it in the computer. it's not the regular 7 because that was on the shelves for $24.99, so next time be sure to get the sku or something so the next fry's bozo can find it without having a brain embolism.
