Thermoelectric Cooling???

Can someone tell me in layman's terms how Thermoelectric HSF's work and whether or not it's worth the ugrade? Do they really offer that much more performance? Without switching to water cooling, what HSF's that use the technology are out there and which would you recommend?

put very simply, when voltage is applied to a plate a temperature differential is created. One can set up a heat pump to exploit this difference thus making one part hotter than ambient and the other colder than ambient.

You are going to need to use water cooling to cool the hot side of the TEC.

not efficient. not worth bothering with most pc's. waters enough.

Did any body tried it with 300Watts, because it is recomended with 350watts

Did some body tried it, i bought one but i did not tried because of power rating and i have 300watts and it needs 350watts
