These Cheapie CD-RW any good?

Hi-Val and I/O Magic. Both of these are on sale at Circut City and a friend of mine asked me if they are any good. Dunno but I thought some one here might be able to give me some insight. Thanks

My friend had a BTC 2x2x6 burner for over a year which he got a while ago for $120. It was probably the cheapest one available at the time. He had pretty much no problems except some cds got messed up but I don't know if that was the burner, media, or user error.

Then another friend of mine got a Pacific Digital cheap burner which went to hell in a few months. It sounds like something is physically broken with it.

The cheap burners might be good, might be bad.

i wouldn't risk getting a cheepie drive.... unless you are planning a cocktail party really soon

I have a friend who got a I/O 2x2x6x a while back, he as said he has no problems with it. Most of these units are re-badged models from other manufactorers.
