Incompetence and accidental killings should not be without severe consequence. Policing needs to be more finely focused on ensuring public safety from serious crimes and less about collecting fines, speeding tickets, harassing poor people, and flinging lead at every loud nose.

Police are important, and it's important to have quality policing.

This. By far, policing is not the most dangerous job, the most rigorous job, or even the job with the most liability for incompetence. Yet somehow it has gotten incredible leeway from the public in regards to acceptable standards for performance.

No other profession would be able to get away with the sheer level of incompetence and corruption these guys get away with. I am not anti-police. I am simply pro-professionalism.

remember when the other officer said that she as talking to him through his window?

that's a lie the other officer told apparently.

what a shit show.

tell more stories.

It is the "telling stories" segment of building a defense. Spread misinformation and doubt. Was the alley dark or well lit? Just what was she holding? How panicked was the victim? How unfairly is the cop being treated? Blah blah.

The fucking Daily Mail? Really?

{quote]Mohamed Noor has not spoken to state investigators about why he shot Justine Damond in Minneapolis on Saturday - but has given an account to friends [/quote]

Might as well link the National Enquirer.

That was the link in the email that told him what, who and why to be outraged.

Where did you get that from?

Right here in this thread:

Fox "News" may be setting up some fodder for their base. For the first time I heard them question the actions of the police up front. Their normal M.O. is to always side with law enforcement. What's different about this case?

Pretty white woman killed by evil black Moooslim. Someone has already brought up the Muslim thing in this thread even though it has nothing to do with this case.

Watch for it over the next few weeks All of a sudden police misconduct will become an issue for them.

Now the department is saying he was a diversity hire and had many complaints against him:

http://mobile.wnd.com/2017/07/killer-cop-mohamed-noor-a-diversity-hire/

http://people.com/crime/officer-shot-australian-yoga-instructor-past-complaints-lawsuit/

I find it interesting all the shit comes up after a shooting. I guess they made their choice: He's going under the bus.

So all those other cases were but now police misconduct is an issue because they have a black guy to sacrifice.

Oops, I forgot some:

Wait, he's black? That changes everything. This officer will go prison as an example, and for the foreseeable future all officers who would like to criticize BLM will then point to his prosecution as proof of the "war against cops". "Because he was just doing his job".

White woman shot and killed a month before her wedding by a black cop named Mohammad [who immigrated to the US as a young boy.] He'll be made an example of for sure, or else he'll be eaten alive by wingnuts.

Oops, I forgot some:

So, let's recap.

Your original argument was that since he is an "ISlamISt", I assume that is how "'murican patriots" spell Muslim, the "left" had problems deciding if he should be investigated or not.

You then did a complete 180 and said "everyone wants him to be punished *but*" they do that then "they" will argue that they are throwing him under the bus because reasons.

You haven't supported that contention at all.

And no, pointing out hypocrisy does not qualify in the least.

I realize the BLM movement may be stupid in your eyes, but I'm sure they have their reasons for what they do!

I don't think the movement is stupid at all, I think the actions taken by criminals in their name and not properly denounced are stupid.

What is even more stupid is making a comment such as yours and then, like the child you are, fake misunderstanding a comment to seem clever.

It doesn't make you look clever, it makes you look like an annoying kid.

Exactly. Those that are pro-criminal originally wanted Noor to hang, but once they learned he's a 'nority they started squirming and aren't sure what to do now.

You then did a complete 180 and said "everyone wants him to be punished *but*" they do that then "they" will argue that they are throwing him under the bus because reasons.

Everyone, including those that are pro-law and order, want him to be punished because he killed an innocent person. If he is punished though, the pro-criminal side will cry foul and scream "muh racism."

You haven't supported that contention at all.

And no, pointing out hypocrisy does not qualify in the least.

I did and it does.

So SOME do not want him punished, according to you.

Everyone, including those that are pro-law and order, want him to be punished because he killed an innocent person. If he is punished though, the pro-criminal side will cry foul and scream "muh racism."

But EVERYONE wants him punished.

Do you understand who these two statements are in direct opposition? It's either one or the other so which is it?

I did and it does.

Assertions without arguments are not useful and no, these people pointing out hypocrisy does not qualify at all.

I suspect if anyone cries 'racism' it would be because they believe white killer-cops should be punished more, not the black ones punished less. I think they'd want levelling up, not down (or down not up, depending how you look at it).

Mainly I'm just glad I don't live in a country where a cop can decide to suddenly shoot you just because they 'heard a loud noise'.

It's sad it's like that though.

Something I noticed travelling around the world: every other police force is straightforward. Either they protect you or abuse you. There's a very clear line drawn and no doubts as to how they handle things.

In America there's a very strong effort to make you believe they are wonderful and safe and friendly even when they clearly aren't. I guess the government thinks maintaining the illusion is why people don't riot and replace their elected officials.

all they are doing is reporting what someone else already reported.

i am not certain what you are on about.

they even use " ' " for emphasis.

Sweet freaking Jebsu. They're repeating fake news from the king of fake news in America, the Enquirer.

If it's the daily mail then go to the source because sometimes those quotes are not correct. In case they are correct, look at credibility of the source.

One bad source quoting another bad source does not make it a double negative source that is credible, you know.

Not looking good for the shooting cop.

The chief of Minneapolis' police department said on Thursday the fatal shooting of an unarmed Australian woman by a junior police officer violated department training and procedures, and that the victim "didn’t have to die."

More taxpayers money to settle I reckon.

Harteau's press conference came hours after an attorney who represented another police shooting victim in Minnesota said Damond's family had hired him.
