1st in this area and I've never had it before. There were like 90 cars waiting in the drive thru so it ended up taking me like 2/3rd's an hour to order.

GOOD GOOGLY MOOGLY delicious! Once the ZOMG ITS NEW!!! thing wears off and I don't have to wait 40 minutes I'll be going back a lot. I should've ordered like 10 pieces of the toast. Sauce was pretty damn tasty too.

I know it started in Louisiana. But the West Coast people seem to love Raising Cane. But Raising Cane is copy of Zaxby's. And Zaxby's is copy of Guthrie's. Guthrie's chicken fingers was the original. And Zaxby's stole the idea from Athen, GA, Guthrie's. And Raising Cane probably stole the idea from Zaxby's.

Georgia is like the king of the fast food. Chick-fil-A started and has headquarter here. Zaxby's has headquarter here. Waffle House started here.

I love Waffle House - those pecan waffles are amazing. I never understood the draw of Cane's. It's okay, but fairly bland and boring.

I ate at Canes a few times and they were alright. Not bad but not spectacular good either.

You're probably right. Also the Cane's in Athens is now in the same spot Guthrie's occupied back when I was in college.

A word of warning: If you are waiting a long time at Canes that probably means they are cooking fresh chicken. Be sure to check the chicken in your box and make sure it hasn't melted into the Styrofoam container. Sometimes they don't let it rest long enough before boxing the meal and *poof* instant Foam Glaze. My brother and I jokingly call it "Cancer Chicken" and it happens way more often than it should.

I went there and was not impressed. I started thinking what on Earth is going on, it is just chicken fingers and fries. Nothing special. But then it hit me. A full generation or two have now grown up with parents that can't, don't know how, or are too lazy to cook at home. These new generations have grown up on chicken fingers. If you look at any kids menu at any restaurant chicken fingers or nuggets are always on the menu. So these kids now adults are only comfortable with chicken fingers. And they will raise their kids on them as well since that is what they know. GENIUS!!!!

Cane's is great if you eat it hot and in the restaurant. Their takeout boxes make everything soggy.

Cane's has the best fried chicken I've ever eaten and their sauce is bomb. I've tried a Zaxby's before and was not impressed. Pro tip for those not in the know. You can substitute the cole slaw for a texas toast, and at my local canes, it is cheaper to order a box + 2 extra pieces of chicken + 1 extra canes sauce than to order the caniac.

We got Raising Cane here in Texas a couple years ago. It's not even on my radar.
For some reason chicken-themed eateries don't entice me. Probably because the chicken sammich on the menu at a burger place is eminently forgettable. I've come to consider it a healthy alternative - and you know what that means.

I need to just enjoy chicken for chicken's sake. I know Wingstop is good.

100% agree. Chik Fil A is 1000 times better. This is nothing to write home about.
