The last patch for Freelancer actually introduced more problems than it fixed.

I hate how companies let their games just disappear from the market. I also hate how they kill whole franchises. We should be up to Freelancer 3 by now, and that with plenty of downtime in between releases.

Meanwhile another Call of Duty was just shat out.

Wait, what was my point?
Oh yeah, we need another Vampire game.

Unofficial Patch 9.0 - 23.04.14

Key word there... there hasn't been an official patch in a very long time. There's just been community fixes AFAIK

Yes, Troika did the one patch but it's been Wesp for the last ~9 years.

You do need this fix for things like 64-bit support and display fixes, not just the quest script fixes.

Yeah, and those facial animations are still the BEST I've ever seen in any game, apart from FMVs and cutscenes.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines is an awesome game. I've played through is at least half a dozen times. I started with a Ventrue male and have played Malkavian (great fun because of the dialogue choices. Malkavians are all crazy), Brujah, Toreador. About the only one I was never interested in was Nosferatu because I didn't want to run the sewers and the shadows all the time. Wesp has done a fabulous job of cleaning up the bugs and adding a lot of content.

I gave in and started another game last night (Toreador for Celerity, not to mention Auspex for the buffs).

I'd played an earlier version of Wesp's "plus" content a few years ago but I'm seeing new content even in the prologue -- a walking with dialogue animation, a conversation in the tutorial area with a Humanity choice.

I have this sitting in my Steam account. A game from 2004 won't make my eyes bleed?

Try it and see - but you do need the Wesp patch to get it to run properly on a modern PC.

I did back Wasteland, Eternity and Torment but I disagree with this.

Activision helped made this game exist at all by supplying the money. When people keep buying it a decade later, the message they send is that they want publishers to make more games like this not just DudeBro Shootah IX. It also thanks Activision for losing a bunch of money to bring you a great game.

I was personally let down by DudeBro Shootah IX. I thought V-VIII were the wheelhouse of that series, and surprisingly, mthey really phoned it in for IX.

Still, I hope some redemption for DudeBro Shootah X. I'm not completely, jaded, yet.

I mean, why introduce new DudeBros with 9? We only needed one DudeBro for the first 8 and no one complained!

I would say, yes, pretty much. The game has a show stopping bug on systems with more tahn 4GBs of RAM that the unofficial patches resolve. Plus they also include the wide screen fixer patch.

It does take some effort to get running a modern machine, but the game with worth it.

Edit - Ugh, has anyone figured out a way to lock the cursor to one monitor in a multimonitor set up? I usually use Dual Monitor Tools, but thats not working for Bloodlines.

Edit 2 - Hmm, might just be the game's menu. Cursor was locked during the Embrace opening cutscene.

Edit 3 - Seems like I have everything working now. Here's what the game looks like with maximum settings, with SweetFX enb, several texture packs, and eye improvements. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6zqdFloqKw&feature=youtu.be
