".INI TWEAKS:
NB: BEFORE MAKING ANY TWEAKS TO INI OR OTHER FILES:
Make a backup of the original file. The easy way is to:
Rename the original to XXX.OLD.
Open the renamed file in NOTEPAD.
Edit the NOTEPAD FILE.
SAVE THE EDITED FILE WITH SAVE AS, Use the original file name (XXX.INI) for example.
You will now have XXX.INI and XXX.OLD in the folder. If your change does not work or causes additional problems just bring the OLD file back into NOTEPAD, then SAVE it with SAVE AS (original name) and it will overwrite your edited file back to normal.
NOTE: Some of these tweaks can be considered fixes and/or tweaks, but some of them can be considered 'cheating', and the game won't play exactly as Ion Storm had intended when using those. So don't use all of these just because they are mentioned in this thread - take a look at what they do, and after having played for a while, decide which ones to use.
If you have made .ini tweaks and get en error message when trying to play the game again("This program has caused an error"), and reinstalling doesn't help, it is said that removing the folders made in My Documents prior to a new install will fix this. Remember that your saved games are in that folder, so copy them to a safe place first.
Tweaks made to Default.ini:
