I'm a fanboi because i don't waste my money on Amd? :whiste:
Dumbest thing I've read today. Congrats!

Lies, you still have to spend $1000. If not, tell me where to buy this $317 CPU that can match i7-990x TODAY. You're a moderator, so I think your statements should be more precise.
wow people sure get all excited when some benchmarks come out.
I agree intels new chip is strong but I am with bigystyle who cares at this point?
Amd will just lower their pricing again and the faster x6s will still be a very viable option once they get down to 200 dollars or under. Comparing the entry price for the sandy bridge cpus with what the pricing is on a x6 or any other amd cpu right now is stupid...considering you can't even buy the intel part.
There are ALOT of minuses right now for going with the intel platforms, and just comparing cpu cost is ignorant. As usual intel has the higher cost motherboards, for no more features alot of times less. I guess if all you do is benchmark then jump for the sandybridge right now. Let's look at what a typical p67 motherboard has.

hmmm no ability to use the cpu graphics (like all p67s) no dual x16 pcie slots memory has gone back to dual mode instead of triple (a huge factor in the past that intel fanboys bragged about) and now we start to get to the biggies....NO firewire, NO esata woot what a enthusiast board this looks like. I hope everyone has their usb mittens and hello kitty fans and phone chargers because that is about all this thing is good for. This would not be so bad if this were not a near 180 dollar motherboard...At any rate there is still plenty of place for amd and as for me I had much rather have a amd board and spend my extra money on a nicer video or ssd drive.
I heard it'll be 50% faster...
As for the value of this topic . LOL a hugh reach by the OP and a failure.
1. P67 replaces P55 and P55 was always Dual Channel
2. The IGP is useless for 99% of us
3. UD3 is 126 dollars, UD3P is 156

we are still looking at 400 bucks aren't we for a mb/cpu combo..pretty lame for a board that has nothing more to offer for rear outputs than usb isn't it?
I think your statements should be at least somewhat precise......there is no i7-990x cpu, unless you've been remarking them.
As for the SB matching an i7-980x, did you even bother to read the review? 7 out of 9 games tested gave a higher frame rate on the SB than the i7-980x. The rest of the benchmarks were split at around 50/50.
And you're comparing Intel's top end Socket 1366 cpu with a midrange SB cpu, which is really a testament to Intel's new cpu. If it only came even close to the 980x cpu's performance would have been great....the fact this midrange cpu, an i7 2600K, can beat the 980x in around half of the benches is just amazing.......hate to see what'll happen when the true high end SB's come to market. Sucks to be AMD right now...at least on the cpu side of things.

Agreed, the firewire may be the lesser issue, but are you going to say esata is unimportant too? If all these features are not important why are we not all just buying some office spec dell or compaq.. No matter what, a motherboard that is on the north side of 150 dollars should have more than this one that's all. I guess it was more of a slam on gigabyte than it was sandy bridge after all I have seen the asus p67 boards also and even the lower end ones have esata and firewire so there you go.

I think people underestimate Llano, they think the GPU is only for gaming.

Nonsense. Maybe for you it's useless, but I'm sure a lot of people, enthusiasts included, would enjoy having Quick Sync (aka the IGP). Incredibly stupid move by Intel with how they handled it.
I've heard about a joint venture between Intel and AMD; a new company called "Dintelam" that is developing an x86-64 monolithic dodecacore CPU that runs at 10GHz, has a 45w TDP, 8 trillion transistors, will hit the street with a price of $50, and has an onboard GPU the equivalent of 8 Radeon HD 6970s. Motherboards for this CPU/GPU will be available from all the major players, with an expected MSRP of $80.
1. I agree
2. I'm fine with this assumption for enthusiasts, but as for review sites they need to be especially clear about QuickSync not working with a discreet card present.
3. I won't even harp on the 8x/8x because that's a moot point for 99.9% of people. But really, you cannot deny that an equivalently equipped, same brand, same quality board with Intel chipset will cost $20 more.
