I've never understood the aboot thing. Oh well, I'm sure somehow it stems from the fact Americans do not know how to spell. :hmm:

Hmm ...
I suppose I will agree about the geese. I fvcking hate those fvcking fvckers!

Also, I could add their lagers, they are watered down nothingness, just like most American lagers... But, Unibroue is good enough to completely negate that.

How about Quebec? But, Canada suffers from Quebec a LOT more than I do, so really, I shouldn't feel hatred to Canada for Quebec, but instead I should feel empathy for Canada for Quebec.

Uranium. If we hate them for their oil, we should hate them even more for their Uranium, They mine like 10x as much Uranium than the USA, and they have a TON more reserves than we have.

Point Pelee. I hate hot weather, and Point Pelee is south of where I live in IL, thesefore, I hate Canada because it's hot and to the south?

Canadians are rude, if anything.

And why do you end every sentence like it's a question.

Why do you think we are rude? I think I am generally well-mannered and courteous.

Same here....

The only time I'm not is if I have no respect for said person.

Let's be real. I've met some canadians which can be real arses, but they are in the minority.

We are in general a polite bunch

I love British Columbia, the rest of it is cold and meh.

I like canadian accents though, in fact I like northern accents in general. Minnesota is my all time favorite though.

UFC, it's a fad and only because it's so popular in Canada that they keep showing it on TV and people keep talking about it!

Don't quote this as fact, but I always assumed it came from Scot's dialect. You got more than Frenchies up there(luckily) :^P

They burnt down our capital - TWICE. [at least that's what my Canadian Wife tells me all the time...EH]

Celine Dion
Nickelback
William Shatner
Michael J Fox

Saying "eh" all the time
Pronouncing "about" as "aboot"
metric system - too much damn work to convert into Gallons.

Dual languages on everything - I don't want to learn FRENCH.. but that's how most Canadians learn french - by reading the cereal boxes.

Their brutal honesty and friendliness and leaving the front door unlocked - it's scares me.

They don't use FEAR tactics on the news - they can't really be that happy all the time!

They have legalized prostitution but we don't...

[of course I'm being sarcastic] - I don't hate Canada as I'd have to hate half of myself [Father is Canadian].

My Canadian friends used to say that, too. Then I did some research and found out that Canadians were not involved at all. They were British Regulars specifically pulled from from the Peninsular battles against Napoleon and a Caribbean regiment. There's a wonderful article from a prominent Canadian historian who said that it's the biggest myth in Canadian history.

They did burn down Detroit though. Probably improved it!

This part was funny though.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_1812

The British scored an important early success when their detachment at St. Joseph Island, on Lake Huron, learned of the declaration of war before the nearby American garrison at the important trading post at Mackinac Island in Michigan. A scratch force landed on the island on July 17, 1812 and mounted a gun overlooking Fort Mackinac. After the British fired one shot from their gun, the Americans, taken by surprise, surrendered. This early victory encouraged the natives, and large numbers moved to help the British at Amherstburg.

I keep seeing this thread on top of the "Gold Plated Cars" thread and use that as a response to this thread.
