Well, I lived in the dorms and there are advantages...
1. Close to everything on campus.
2. Campus ethernet. Nuff said.
3. Cheaper than living off campus (unless you eat ramen everyday and live in a total slum place)
4. Less housing headaches. Off campus housing managers really are slow at fixing problems with their houses. At least in the area where I went to college. At least the campus housing repair people fixed my problems same day. My friend with the toliet bolted onto the rotting bathroom floor wasn't fixed until he moved out.
