$10 is pretty good for work that didn't require much real effort. Be glad you don't have to mow lawns or wipe crap off the walls like a lot of jobs teenagers get. I only got $9.80 two years ago in an internship after my freshman year in college.

You have no "real" experience. You are not certified. You are 15 and are getting paid under the table. Just the fact that you are asking this question illustrates your inexperience.

I hate to say it but I think you were payed decently. The company did take a chance on you. Now you may know all about what you did. You may have the knowledge of a professional BUT unless you can prove that to them then they were taking a chance giving the job to you. In addition your age is a large factor. Someone that is 15 is unlikely to have even half the experience of someone even a few years older let alone a professional that can GUARANTEE his/her work.

You are not certified. You are 15 and are getting paid under the table.
You have no "real" experience that they can bank upon as being a definite guage of your knowledge and capabilities. You cannot offer any sort of guarantee that your work would be done well.

Sorry, but I have to agree with them, I think they paid you a just amount for your time and work.

No one around here is certified for anything, so certified crap doesn't count. Guess it's just age. Which sucks.

Experience is something I lack, but am learning, and like knowing the stuff.

hey paulson, i agree you should have got paid more. If it was me i would ask for a 100 at least and even show them the going rates, which for a professional, probably in the thousands. well 7 hours, maybe not in the thousands, but at least a thousand.

I wish someone would have let me help them set-up servers when I was your age. You got some experience, it will look good on a resume when you do go to get a job. Be happy about it, 10 bucks an hour is pretty good. The experience is the best part. You'll be able to tell others you have set up a web server, not for yourself, but for a for-profit corporation. That's a big deal.

Be grateful that you even got paid. You know how much work a lot of kids your age have to do to even come close to making that much money? Most 15 year olds are either mowing lawns or flipping burgers for $5 an hour busting their asses to make a buck. You're sitting there on your butt clicking a mouse.

Here's a suggestion - take that money and give it back to your parents for buying you a $3,000 computer in the first place that you've learned your lEEt skilz on.

You're 15. Be freaking happy that you aren't scrubbing the sh!t off the floor of some fast food joint.

We know because he told us. I believe it's a compaq 1 GHz. It may be an Athlon, but I'm not sure. He did help hubbs build a custom box, so that may count for something

In OT, maybe half the people could have done that job without breaking a sweat. In GH, that number would rise to 90% or so.

I just made $1,000 for a 2 hour job for a company I used to work for, but I'm an accounting professional with 15 years experience who did something very complicated for my client. In 20 years, you can do the same.

I think 10/hour is fine. I just turned 16 and I'd be more than happy to go do that type of stuff for $75. The way I look at it is that whenever I'm working on computers it is fun and a learning experience. So if some people want to pay me $75 to have fun with computers and learn stuff, then I'd be all for it.
