yea im pretty sure that is the deal here. it is a pretty cool badge but I want the standup star instead. the best part they are super easy to change and like you said not expensive at all.
The badge isn't even expensive. They probably just liked the flat badge. You can get all sorts of designs off ebay or aliexpress.

When we first got our car our daughter came down from college for the weekend. The first time we let her drive it she gets behind the wheel, adjusts the seat and mirrors then says, "does this mean I can drive like an asshole?"
She is confused. Those are Audi drivers.
Did not realize that the 5yr starts when the car was first put in the service; so for 2012 car, the warranty ends at 2017. Now it does not look that impressive.5yr unlimited mileage warranty is very nice; are there lots of loopholes?
Looks like a good deal and a nice car. Should be fun to drive and likely will be reliable for the near future
You already likely know the "negatives"
1.) It will cost a lot more to maintain
2.) Likely will have more problems
3.) Resale if you want to sell it is not good

Congrats. Looks to be owned by an enthusiast/modder: clear side marker and AMG badging are common. Hopefully it was well maintained and not beaten on.
