That's a fair amount.
It's not super-effective, for me, at least. I'm guessing you have a tolerance for it if you are taking that much / taking it regularly.
One alternative you could try if you are avoiding/can't afford pharmaceuticals is exercise. Of course, it's a really big pain in the ass, but it does release endorphins. I very rarely exercise (like many), and if I do it's something like jogging in place or in circles around a basement / garage (if there's room). I smoke so I can't jog for very long, so I can say that even just doing it for 5 minutes helps out every once in a while.
Establishing it as a daily routine would help, too, if you could stick with it. I'm just too damn lazy.
Another alternative would be to develop an obsession. Some people look at obsessions like a cancer, but everyone has them about something to some degree. Even something like playing an MMORPG could be considered an healthy obsession, depending on the person. Of course, it depends on your interests, but the overall point is that getting a hobby and regularly doing it could help
