Thinking of getting a HD6670, but I have size contraints

My HD3850 just died. Got a HD3870 dual slot from a friend, but it's too big to fit in my computer. So I need something in size similar to my old card.

The old card is 7.7 x 4.5 x 1.4 inches (WxHxD). I can fit a few more centimeters in width. Suggestions?

Are you looking for a performance upgrade too? HD77xx are pretty small. The 6670 would be a very small upgrade in performance with a large decrease in power draw, while also giving you access to DX11.

EDIT: Here's a size comparison of my HD7850 next to my old 4870CF:

The 6600 series is several generations newer than my old card though, why is it a small upgrade? I mainly play Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 right now. I want to get Bioshock Infinite some time and maybe other games.

I definitely want the card to be under $100.

I assume you mean it doesnt fit because it is dual slot, not that it is too long?

The nvidia Gtx 650 Ti would be a nice upgrade and it is very short, at least the reference model, but it is dual slot.

If the dual slot width is the problem, it is going to be difficult to find a decent modern single slot card.

It's too long as my hard drive is in the way. The dual slot is also going to be a problem.

I'm using a Dell 530 so there's not much room to work with.

Whats your budget, system specs, and games?

Maybe?

That is a nice choice also, especially since you get a 60.00 game and a 15.00 game for free with them.

It would still be useful to know what is the OPs cpu and ram at least, so that we could know what level of gpu is appropriate. If he is running something like a C2Duo or Athlon x2 he could be cpu limited in a lot of games, even with something like a HD7770.

The HD6670 is a rebadge of the HD5670, so it's a low-end card from the 5000 series and the 3850 was a high-end card from the 3000 series. The 6670 falls somewhere between an HD3870 and an HD4870 in terms of performance.

It's something akin to assuming a Sandy Bridge i3 would be much faster than your Q6600 - it is faster, but not really by much. The biggest improvements are in power consumption and features.

I think a real upgrade would be an HD7770 or HD7790, if you can afford it.

What about a HD7750? If that 7770 is that much better then I'll pony up and get the one linked by Jimzz.

What is wrong with a dual slot card? The Dell 530 comes with the slot next to the graphics card empty by default.

Also, for $5 more than the HD7770 you can get the HD7790 from Powercolor (after rebate). Powercolor is a so-so brand, but 7790 is legitimately fast.

There's two pci slots and I'm using both of them. A dual slot might fit, but it's iffy. I'll take a look later.

HD7750 is around equal to an HD4870 in performance but it has DX11, draws a fraction of the power and produces a fraction of the heat. The 7770 is something like 15% faster on average. If you feel 15% extra speed is worth the cost difference, go for it.

The 7770 can overclock better on average as it has its own power plug.
It also comes with some games, the 7750 has no more games. So sell the games and you get the 7770 for the same price or cheaper than most 7750 right now.

If he could fit a dual slot card I would say the 7790 card as it comes with more games and is very close to the 7850.
