Hey Everyone,

This is my second post at anandtech forums, So the first post that i had wrote was about the new gaming computer i was building, that needed CPU cooler...now i am almost done finding right parts for my rig...i am thinking of Liquid Cooling the rig...so i did so research and found a neat looking ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 (REV 3.0) Motherboard (Click Here to View the ASUS Motherboard) and a Huge Case that has integrated Liquid Cooling...since i don't know what is needed to custom build a Liquid cooling...i would like to have a already build Liquid cooling...since i have no other options...i would like anyone here to refer me a much better Liquid Cooling kit or just help me decide which case would be the best...(Click Here to View Thermaltake Liquid Cooling)

Thank You for your Help.

If you are considering liquid cooling you should do a custom loop, that will give you by far better results than any kit and also provide you with the ability to expand the loop/upgrade it in the future.

If you want help building a custom loop you should list your hardware and also decide what you want to be included in your loop. Generally loops are CPU, CPU + GPU(s), or just GPU(s).

Watercooling will cost you a pretty penny, I recently made the jump to watercooling and built a custom loop for 2 6970s and an PHII. The intial layout was ~$550 and I have already ordered another $100 worth of hardware and have plans to spend an additional ~$100. Its addicting and way way way too much fun. I highly recommend it That being said depending on your hardware your initial expenditure probably won't be as much as mine, full cover GPU blocks are expensive.

Also I just looked at the motherboard you linked, that is way cool.

thank you guys for your replies, but the main information i was hoping to receive was what parts would actually need to build the perfect most reliable Liquid Cooling system, i am also going to get 2 x GTX 590's and Quad SLI them...(Click Here to View the GTX 590 Product)...I am not just trying to keep my CPU cool but also my future GPU that i am definitely ordering...right now i have a GTX 570 which is good but gets hot when playing games like crysis 2 (60C-85C)...i would really like to get a list of item that i will definitely need to make a Liquid Cooling system...you could just give me product name...i search it up and buy...Thank You for your Help!

Case: Thermaltake Element V

Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth P67

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

GPU: GTX 590 Classified Hydro Copper Quad SLI (2 pack)

Power Supply: Silverstone ST1500

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory

I wanna make it look like this...

while that 1st pic is a clean and sharp looking setup the extra line between the gpu's just allows more tube to travel and allow a possible increase in temp if the liquid in the pipes is cooler than the internal case temp

Even if there was a 50*C delta between the case temp and liquid temp, that extra foot wouldn't increase the temp 1*C if you have reasonable flow.

It has 2 SLI Slots and they are far enough...

SABERTOOTH P67 REV 3.0 - New P67 B3 Revision
Intel P67 Based Military-grade Motherboard with Thermal Armor

  • Intel® LGA1155 socket for Intel® 2nd Generation Core™ i7/ Core™ i5/ Core™ i3 Processors
  • Intel® P67 Express Chipset
  • TUF Thermal Armor - Total Airflow-Boosting Heat Dissipation
  • TUF Thermal Radar - Real Time Temp Detection and Heat Removal
  • TUF Components [Alloy Choke, Cap. & MOSFET; Certified by Military-standard] - Certified for Tough Duty
  • E.S.P. [Efficient Switching Power Design] - Optimal power efficiency for key components
Graphics Card is my main concern for GPU liquid cooling...

You'll probably find water cooling more hassle than it's worth.
...But it's your time and money.

why would u want to go that route.. and use the wrong ports, have tubing do a funky loop da loop, when you can just use a bridge and tie both gpu's cleanly like this?

Also i push QDC's on gpu blocks..

the best question to ask you is whats your budget?

The system you want would require at least 300 dollars in JUST GPU blocks.
Your aware of that right?

You'll probably find water cooling more hassle than it's worth.

mmmm that depends.. i like my temps where they are.. dont you?

infact u can clearly see what my only air cooled component is in that Hmonitor, its kinda obvious as it has the highest temperature.

As someone who recently took the plunge it isn't that huge of a hassle if you do your research ahead of time. 5 years ago, yeah it was more of a hassle, but these days it takes a bit of time of setup time, then you are good.

Still costs a lot, I'll give you that.

First let me start by saying if you have not already bought that piece of ....er...i mean, if you have not bought that Thermaltake case yet, then DON'T. It is garbage.

With that said, if you are going to be spending 4 grand on just graphics cards, then you obviously have the money to invest another 800 or so into a high-end case and cooling for everything.
As your original question was suggestions for components to use, here is a great starting point:
TIM - Indigo Xtreme
Case - Corsair 800D or 700D if you want to custom cut your window
RAD (primary) - XSPC RX360
RAD (secondary) - XSPC RX120
CPU WB - EK Supreme HF P1
Pump - Swiftech MCP35X
Res - XSPC Acrylic Dual 5.25in Reservoir for One Laing DDC
Fans - Scythe Gentile Typhoon 1850 (x4/pull)
Tubing - 1/2" I.D. (clear Tygon w/UV dye ~or~ Feser UV tubing)
Fittings - 1/2" (Compression most likely)(x12)
Liquid - Distilled water w/ killcoil

The system above only needs a fan controller of your choice to complete it. This is a very high-end set-up and it will cool all your components and still have enough head room in case you want to add in a chipset waterblock at a later date.

The set-up above will run you roughly $800 depending on options and fan controller.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

.

mmm if you have the budget id push this guy, as it has the upgrade ability to take 2 ddc's, and can be a dual or single loop res.

Basically... u can use it for dual loops, or single loops, with 1 ddc, or 2.
More upgrade options for you to use if u decide to change things around.

as well as "energy" it takes to get everything right the first time...

op's an enthusiast, let him be.

there are custom parts that people construct for h20-enthusiasts.

you are not limited to the commercial sector, my friend.

Definitely get a better case. How about Silverstone TJ07 or TJ-11 or anything that holds lots of radiator.

ok i ordered the parts i had mentioned above, the only thing is needed to be ordered is the case and water cooling parts, the case that i like is the Obsidian Series® 800D Full-Tower Case because the wire management is really well formed and the case is totally made for liquid cooling...i read bunch of reviews for hours and hours yesterday about this case. under this is a link to a post where someone is putting together a whole custom water cooling...something like a guide.
