Thinking of selling some services.....

I'm an international student in Western Michigan Uni. I've thought of helping people with their com problems and charging them a small amount of money for fixing or repairing their pcs. First things first, I'm not sure if it's legal for me to do it as I'm an international student but I'm eligible to work in campus. Secondly, I don't know how to go about to promsoe the services. I've thought of sticking flyers on the msg board. What do you think is a good price to charge?? Hourly basis??

Need your opinions on it.

Anything is legal as long as the government doesnt find out Honestly I dont see you making much money during the year doing it so I'd actually try it... I charge $25 an hour for comptuer repair to home users with a one hour minimum charge. Business rates vary. I think $25 is rock bottom price.

Just make up prices. Like $50 for new hard drive and operating system installed, $10 put in a network card, $15 cdrom, $35 for a burner, but these are just estimates of what I would charge but these would vary for friends and level of difficulty.

Well, you see, I'm only getting 6 bucks an hour in the dining services and I can't get a job in the computer centre as it's monopolized(sp??) by the one group of people. So, I would just wanna an some extra juice while i'm not at school or working in the dining hall. 25an hour is good??

I'm thinking of ways to promote it too.

Listen for people complaining about their problem, walk up and pimp yourself, then let word of mouth take over
