Yes, yes it is.
I don't understand why Frank is on the poster
I knew that much, DD is a completely self contained story. The sequel has nothing to do with the original, in fact Richard Kelly had nothing to do with it and he didn't want it being made.
I remember I was watching it with some girl cause it was her favorite movie. I was bored out of my mind.
That is why I give a lot of movies a 2nd chance. But very frequently I find I still don't like it. Sometimes I go back to a movie, realizing some things about it that turned me off and I try to accept it on its own terms, trying not to let certain things, ideas I have, detract from the experience. That attitude sometimes unlocks the experience for me.Like a lot of "different" things, you have to be in the mood for it, for it to work.
All these cult movies are weird and don't make much sense.
Such is the case of this movie.
The only one cult movie (i have seen) that is any good is 2001 A Space Odyssey.
The Shining is the ultimate cult movie. Kubrick put everything he had into making that film and it is mindblowingly complex. Watch Room 237 on Netflix for a 'start' into how deep it is.
