Anyway I recently picked up a Sony SZ (SZ110/B) because it was cheap on clearance at Office Depot. Anyway it is new in box and I'm debating if I should open it (thus not be able to return it).
I am a laptop whore. I've owned more laptops than I can count the ones that I can think of in the past several of years... HP Omnibook 500, Compaq N400c, Dell Inspiron 600m, G4 iBook, Gateway M505, Dell Precision M20, Appple 12" G4 Powerbook, IBM Thinkpad R50, IBM Thinkpad T41, Gateway MX3215, and recently the Apple MacBook. In case you are wondering I typically own 2-3 notebooks at a time. I have to have a mac notebook for some of the mac stuff I do, and 1 or 2 PC notebooks for my primary machine and diagnostic machine for some of my car stuff.
Right now I own the Gateway MX3215 (which I am already attempting to sell), Macbook, and Thinkpad T41.
I want to upgrade the T41 to something newer. This is my primary computer that I do most programming, graphics, design, web surfing etc on. I absolutely love the T41, it is incredibely well built, has long battery life, and it is small and portable. Graphics is Radeon 9000 so it isn't spectacular but considering I rarely even touch games on this notebook it is fine. Anyway it is just showing it's age and I want something new. Also I would like to get a notebook that I can take into Vista which the T41 will almost certainly won't do well. This notebook I have owned by far the longest of any notebook I've ever owned because I love it so much. I really regret letting go of the SXGA+ screen because I love that screen resolution, but I have had lower screen resolutions in the past (the Omnibook, Gateway M505 used to be my primary laptop) and I think I can deal with that.
Anyway I've read the reviews etc and I'm happy enough about this purchase but I guess I'm looking for opinions to weather I should keep the SZ or perhaps look into something else. I know the T60 is basically the exact replacment I should be looking for but well the SZ I got cheap, and cheap is cheap
