Thinnest digital camera in the world casio exilim (pimp status) warm

Saw this camera at fry's and was like wow this thing is small too bad they didnt have any in stock. Linked has it for $299 no shipping, no tax and 60 bucks from msn wallet ( use it at ebgames?) perfect camera to put in pocket, picked one up for myself. o n heres a detailed view of camera Linkdified

I was thinking about getting this camera but from the reviews i've seen, the quality of the pictures aren't what i hoped for. I think the sony u20 for $243 shipped and no tax at goodguys is better camera and better deal. the sony isn't much bigger at all. shorter than the casio but a little thicker

Personally i checked out both cameras at fry's and thought the sony felt a little too cheap as most of it looked plasticky. It doesnt look as slick as the casio even though it might be more worth it, basically personal preference because im sure both will have about same quality. and im not really that picky about my picture quality as long as they're pretty good, its good enough for me, normal cameras too big to put in pocket so pointless for me to have.

Haha that's funny. Shouldn't you base the camera on how the pictures look and not how the camera looks itself? Lol I could care less if it looks like a teletubby; only that it takes good pics. It's not like showing it off to your friends will give you your defnition of 'pimp status', but I could be wrong .

I agree with sojumk, I use to have the Kodak 3400, which took good pics. Only problem was that it was so big that it became a bit of a pain to carry around so I never took it with me, so hence no pictures. I now have the Minolta DimageX and it the best marriage of both worlds. Small enough to carry around in your shirt pocket (I've done it before) and yet still takes good pics (as well as short video clips). I plan to upgrade to the DimageXi once I get the funds.

Ha. I read what he said too and thought the exact same thing. Despite its mediocre pictures then he would rather get the camera that sparkles even though the pictures arent so hot just for "pimp status"? Looks like we got a tacky fur jacket, oversized fidora, and a ivory head cane worn by a skinny little kid.

Wow. pretty bad image quality (re: sony review link). All the pictures look like they've been "sharpened". The edges look like ass. Get a decent camera carrying case and you can takes some nice pictures and still manage to be a pimp.

On a side note, I'm not exactly thrilled with the quality of my olympus 3020 either. Granted, its a hell of a lot better than the sony, but the quality is still somewhat amateur'ish. Anyone know of a cheap SLR digital?

I think you guys should consider the M2 version of this. It is 2MP compared with the 1.3MP. However, it is also $100 more. But it is in Frys now. Saw it yesterday.

Actually the Dimage X and Xi both have 3x optical zoom, whereas the sony u-10 and 20 don't have any optical zoom. the Dimage is very unique in that the zoom lenses are internal in the body versus a motor to control the lenses.

If given the choice, I'd go for the best of both worlds which is the Dimage Xi, 3MP and 3x optical zoom and a small camera.

If your looking for a small 4MP camera your choices are the new Canon S45 (just came out), canon s40, or the Sony P-9. There are others, but those are the best. The photo quality is the difference and the Canon just looks that much better than the P-9, try it out at your local tech gadget store and have them print it out for you.

u mean S2 right? the casio s1 is 1.3mp, the S2 is 2mp. the difference between S2 and M2 is that M2 has a mp3 player in it (and the 100 bux difference). thought about getting that but it only takes up memory anyway. so i dun think it's that great of an idea. (unless u have a massive memory card)

Heheh... I have both the Canon S300 and the new S45....well, my wife has the S300 now.

Both cameras are great. The S300 is small, portable, but unlike the Casio camera, it's highly rated (steve's digicam and dpreview)

How interesting. So I'm visiting friends in college with my 2 best friends who graduated with me last spring. One of them has the Exilim (the MP3 one), and the other one just got the 2MP Sony U10. Both of them broke it out at the semi-formal we were at and lemme tell you...the girls & guys came running.

They're both nice cameras...and they will definitely turn heads amonst friends. In my personal opinion, I like the Exilim a little bit better because I think the LCD on the U10 is a little small for my taste...I had trouble seeing if the lighting wasnt too great.

I actually would love to get the Dimage, but I am a poor man (thanks to AT) =)
