If you read the article (none of you did) you'd see it's to protest that only 5% of the artists in the museum are female. Feminist stuff.
Actually, that part of the article is talking about the Guerrilla Girls poster from 1989 which stated that 5%/85% fact, and has nothing at all to do with what happened in Paris.
In fact, the "artist" is quoted directly as to what her motivations were: "I am revealing what we do not see in the painting, the eye of the vagina, the black hole, this concealed eye, this chasm, which, beyond the flesh, refers to infinity, to the origin of the origin."
