Wow, those guys expanded big time. I lived in Sacramento, then moved to Phoenix and discovered Berts (thats what we used to call it). They weren't in Sac then, or So Cal. But this was almost 20 years ago.

The Berts in Phoenix were 24 hour joints where the names always ended in "berto". Philbertos, Albertos, etc. Small places that you walk up to with I think only outdoor seating. Like a Wienerschnitzel. Had the same menu and food. I'm assuming its the same chain.

I think they are either related or the So Cal one is copying the formula. The menus are pretty much the same, especially the asada fries. We don't have that in any of the mexican Restaurants in the Bay Area that I know of. Also, the one based in AZ has an Arizona burrito, and the one you linked has a California burrito.

Dammit, now I want Mexican food.
