I lost almost 20 pounds and my appetite still has'nt returned. I've made the decision that going forward I'm changing my entire lifestyle. No more fast food or junk food, in fact once I start to regain my appetite I'm going to try and start eating mostly raw fruits and vegetables (cucumber, carrots, celery, peaches, apples). I also plan on getting a lot more serious about physical exercise again too, I'm going to make time for cardio, weight training and ab development. My unhealthy days are behind me, I'm starting a new chapter in my life.

A couple of questions though, I think I have a really mild form of pneumonia as I'm still able to walk around but I still have shortness of breath. The doctor prescribed anti-biotics for me but I'm wondering how soon should I wait after the pneumonia is gone before I can safely start to exercise?

if you're worried about exercise before you are ready, just start your diet. it definitely won't hurt you if you start eating healthy, especially if you are sick.

Sounds like a good question to ask your doctor

Good luck on your new plan!

It's wierd for some reason a lot of foods I used to crave taste like crap, now I finding myself hungering for cucumbers or something healthy like that

lmao for me it is. At one time I maintained a really respectable physique enough where guys would ask me what kind of routine I was running and chicks would flirt with me on a regular basis, but even then I had a crappy diet. Hopefully this next go round with much healthier eating and exercise I can get respectable again.

Wait until you your not short of breath anymore. That would probably be the most sensible thing to do.

I have sometimes just trained through it and more often then not felt great after training. The sweats I'd get after training through being ill sort of 'beat' the illness. It may make you feel worse or better so I can't say.

I'm kind of tired actually. I just added another bit to the general audio type thread I've been working on in Forum Issues. I think I'm really rambling on in it like usual.

If you are wanting to put your weight back on quick, and you should after a major illness, eating vegetables only won't do it. Mix them with a diet of high calorie, high fat foods. Whole milk, peanut butter, eggs, full fat yogurt, grape juice, bread smeared with butter and jam. Get your weight back, then worry about more healthy eating.

Exercise based on what you can tolerate. I'd start with something simple like some walking.
