WW -- This one I can share with you in very personal terms. I have lost too many close friends in recent years to tobacco-related illnesses. I did not know Carol Ann, but we have known each other long enough that I know she must have meant as much to you as my friends did to me, and will hold a special thought for her whenever I think of my missing friends.

If you are a smoker, I hope you can find the strength to stop. If you are not, your buying decisions about tobacco don't mean anything to these greedy, evil people, but you can still hurt them, financailly. please join the boycott of all food products owned by tobacco companies. I should point out that if you wish to boycot MO (philip morris) you should in fact stop buy all Kraft and Nabisco products. That covers about 60% of the "convience" foods on the shelf.

My father stop smoking almost 20 years ago but all the Lucky Strikes he's smoked since they rationed them to him in WWII are catching up to him and within the year he will be another of the victims He's not even gone yet and I already share your pain

I'm happy to say i don't buy any of those foods *if they can be called food* with any regularity.... maybe one or two once a year....

And the boycott of consumer products IS one of the most effective ways to fight a company (period).

To paraphrase a very famous man. "If you wish to change the world you live in, you must be the change you wish to achieve."

I have lost many family members to cancer, mostly lung cancer attributable to heavy smoking. My heart goes out to you in your loss.

Yeah right. I'm not smoking, I'm just helping the companies get more money because they make more than Cancer sticks. I'm not hurting anyone and no one is forcing you to smoke. Boycotting is a stupid idea in general, yeah, it'd be better if cigarettes weren't produced, but lets say there was no market for them. The only people hurting themselves are the smokers..

And half of those products are damned good (Tombstone Pizza, mmmm).

Let's blame gun manufacturers for those who die from suicide by firearms. It's the same logic.
