Store it below 25C. How hot does a CPU's core get? 50C+ is likely - remember, your motherboard only measures what the temp at the bottom of the CPU, not the core itself. So, why should such a substance need to be stored at 25C? Ok, now is it understood?



I love too how they rate electronics at 25C. Why that temp? Maybe something reasonable? "A PSU performs to such and such specs at 25C." Your PSU might be at 25C for the first minute or two of operation, then it's going to be pretty warm, unless you live near the Arctic Circle and compute outside.

the coolermaster compound is a phase change compound meaning it's characteristics change when the temp is raised above a certain temperature. Its made by Shen Etsu. When first applied the compund works reasonably well but after running for a week or two the material goes thru a phase change and starts providing better cooling. I see temps running about 5 to 7 degrees C lower after a few weeks use that when initially installed. From waht I understand, the phase change starts to occur at about 35 to 40C. I would suspect that if the tube of stuff was stored at that temp on a shelve, its cooling characterisitcs would change when it was finally used. If you understand the product ......

The statement makes perfect sense.
