like it or not, the planned construction for the North Jersey, NYC area is just frightening.
Replace Twin Towers in NYC, Yankee Stadium, Mets Stadium, NJ Nets getting a new building in the Bronx, Xanandu.
Where the FVCK are they getting financing for all of that? how is real estate supposed to cool off if they keep building?

Bergen County in NJ is not the 2nd richest county in the country for nothing! There is tons of money here to be spent somewhere like this.
I agree with what you say though. Real Estate is crazy!

Yankees are paying for their own stadium. Nets are building in Brooklyn, not the Bronx.

my bad, you're right.
but still, the overall point i was making is still accurate. this much construction means more rapid growth in an area already getting outrageous for house prices.

Residential Real Estate usually goes down from a stadium in the area IIRC. Lots of traffic, noise, etc. Commercial real estate goes up and makes more money for the city. Yanks and Mets are not relocating either, just building new stadiums in the same area.
Why is that a bad thing? These projects will probably create thousands of jobs and help out the local economy. I'm missing the point...Originally posted by: PlatinumGold

you are thinking on a different scale than i am.
i'm referring to the entire tri state area.
NJ real estate in particular.
think about it, how many hundreds of thousands of workers and small businesses will be directly involved in the building of these projects? how many millions of workers and small businesses will be indirectly impacted by these projects?

I live 1 town over from the project. There is no way they are going to be finished by 2007. They don't have anything started yet, or I just can't see the work from the highway.
maybe they mean they will start building in late 2007
