I was browsing the good ole e-Bay and I came across some people selling the GeForce 3 already. It seems some lucky person is selling the VisionTek GeForce 3. Or is he? Scroll down and look at the last sentence in his Auction

This item is to pre-order I will be recieving them within a week as i am told by my distributor. I will have the elsa 920 soon too. Please contact me for info...

Pre-ordering!!! The price is already up to un-godly amount of $730.00 dollars. I really do feel for these people. If they only read the reviews and just hold off for like two more weeks when they actually will appear in stores. I guess people are right about e-Bay that you can sell anything including the kitchen sink...

hehe this $hit is funny especially the sink

anyways mods if my links are inappropriate feel free to edit them

Preordered items? Kitchen sinks?

Well, looks like I'm going to start selling people's souls on e-bay! I might actually make money.

Yes, some people do not know what "research before you buy" really means.

Wow, just Wow! I can't believe it. Of course, this is just like the PS2 craze that was happening for a while too.

Reminds me of the heyday of the Furbys - at its height, there were as many auctions for pre-orders of specialty and "hard-to-find/rare" ones as there were for actual, in-hand ones.

I wanted at least one Furby that year, for Santa to leave under the tree. I ended up with four, one for each person that wanted one. I think I bid on about 200 of them over a period of about 4 weeks; always stuck with those that had them (and pics to prove it, more or less), and always set an upper limit on each Furby that I bid for.

My final average price (including the shipping costs) was something less than $55 apiece, which wasn't bad back then. What was funny was that I bid on several that had reserves that were much higher; I didn't get them (obviously), but had at least two sellers contact me later (after their auctions ended under reserve) to ask if I was interested in buying them "for the reserve price and free shipping".

In at least one case, I said no and indicated that I was looking for a much lower price (her reserve was into 3 digits), only to be told (rather snippily), "You're crazy, you won't be able to get Furbys shipped in time for Xmas at your price."

I sent back one reply, indicating that I already had two on the way and was awaiting final action on one other auction that would also be shipped in time. She sent one more reply, actually a nastygram along the lines of "Well, I paid $1xx apiece for these Furbys and I'm going to get my money's worth out of them."

Sometime after the holidays, I noted that the same seller was advertising Furbys again, but this time with no reserve and at a much lower price. :Q :disgust:

Sometimes I think there ought to be support groups for recovering auction-a-holics.
