You have all you need right there, the pictures and letters and numbers are no longer important.

Look at what you have, LET IT OFEI AT, look at what makes sense, and change what doesn't make sense.

Level 17 is very easy and amusing (I think the creator intended for the last solvable level to be fun and not so hard).

LET IT
OFEIAT = LUVRAT

What the hell is a luvrat? Whatever.. off to 17. Umm... what's going on here.

Oh, of course, that should have been my first guess. Makes total sense now - NOT!!!!! :|

I just want to point out that I want to call Shenanigans on puzzle 16 due to the 'password' being totally uh... whatever. (Afraid to spoil).

I guess you could say I was expecting something else due to all the clues?

Wow guys, thanks for totally ruining the last 2 levels for everybody that might've wanted a simple challenge. I gave you those answers in PM for a reason.

Oh well, most everybody was probably sick of it anyway.

And it doesn't matter if you have a sucky monitor, IrfanView or Photoshop could've easily done the job.

If you looked at the entire thread, it was meant to be a global effort by the entire forums. There are solutions from beginning to end. If you don't want hints, you don't read the thread. If you want help, then go read the thread. Obvious enough.

The one thing I'm curious about is the mus1.mp3. Did he really take a song and slow it down 4x to get that background music? If so, what song was it. Ah well... whatever, I'm happy this is all over.

Hints I'm okay with, but just stating the answer is a bit excessive, especially since you didn't fully discover it in the first place. And it's the last actual level, it's not blatant morse code or a foreign name for a candy bar.

And stop whining out "luvrat", you wouldn't have guessed it anyway so its not being correct english doesn't matter, you only had to do a basic conversion. "luv" is a very common abbreviation (admittedly only used by certain kinds of people). And this is loverat.

Why are you tripping about this puzzle? It's a freaking puzzle, not a midterm or homework, it's a GAME. Read the entire thread... people gave hints, and when people still got stuck, the hints turned eventually into answers. I gave the hint of the A-Z transformation, someone still didn't get it. Then I basically translated it even further. The last puzzle, someone merely said turn up the contrast. What's wrong with me typing out what you see so that you don't have to do it yourself. mus3.mp3, not everyone wants to take an mp3 and reverse it and speed it up, so they read what happens when someone else did it.

Stop trying to act all special that you figured out question 16 first from the forums. The only thing you can get from solving it first is an online cookie. So let it rest. Geez....

My only problem with luvrat was that, to me, it's really not much of an english word. It would be similar to having something along the lines of "ppl=people" or "gooder=more than good" or some other sort of slang (leet, engrish, etc). Although I should have tried 'luvrat', the simple fact that it didn't look like an actual word (or words) threw me off considerably, and made me think we were still (even after your hints) going about it the wrong way. Although loverat is in an english dictionary, luvrat is not.

Not trying to get all riled up about a small speedbump in a rather great riddle, but after all the logical steps (with a few minor leaps of intuition), it seemed like a such a silly thing to get stalled out due to a slang spelling of a colloquialism.

Great riddle, but still really annoyed with the 'luvrat=loverat' business.

-LJ

PS. Have to admit, I'm rather surprised that nearly all the puzzles seemed to have some sort of connection with music. Does luvrat have one? (Band/song/lyrics)

I was actually looking up stuff on 'turn me on deadman'... it was regarding a Paul McCarthy death thing... maybe that's the link?

I'm wondering, but I'm not the greatest Beatles fan, so I have no clue. Loverat + Beatles searches don't seem to turn up all that much. Maybe someone who's a fan might know a link?

I just think it would be cooler if all the puzzles were tied together in some sort of theme that wasn't immediately obvious.

What is the exact username and password for level 16? I am a moron and can't figure it out from blatant clues.

I wasn't looking for praise, if I had been, I would've posted the answer right away to prove that I knew it, and even PMing people with the answer made me feel kinda cheap. I enjoyed doing this puzzle and just thought other people would too without having the answers spoon-fed to them. You'd get mad if someone ruined the ending to a movie you wanted to see, wouldn't you? I'm willing to bet that many people spent more than the average runtime of a movie on this puzzle, I know I did. I never asked for any rewards, I simply stated that I solved it and would give anybody hints in PM if they wanted them. I wanted people to solve it on their own, so obviously I don't want any praise for doing the same thing. Really, I'd think that would've been obvious. No e-cookie for you.

There is no connection between luvrat and the Beatles. "Turn me on deadman" was another "seek-and-ye-shall-find" rumor for another Beatles song played backwards. There were many such rumors, along with the famous "Paul is dead" conspiracy too. This was the creator's way of telling you to flip the mp3 to solve the answer, or to turn false into true.

Some people DID spend alot of time on this puzzle. I was definitely one of them. You can see my first post very early on the thread. Some people don't want to spend alot of time on the puzzle, you can see their posts near the end of the thread. I think people should be smart enough to figure out how to spoil themselves or not. The people who have been working on this for a while, KNOW that the thread has spoilers throughout the puzzle. I think they can extrapolate for themselves.
