Cancer is not a choice. Fat is, especially holiday pounds, and for that matter, joining that site is a choice. Fail.

several cancers may be unintended, and even likely, consequences of choices.

Best and most honest person there is...fatties simply are not welcome. I like the use of the word "roam", like they are grazing buffalo infesting the site.

Didn't you recently post on a popular bodybuilding website about not being able to do a pullup? Or was it coincidence that it was another Spidey from Kentucky?

Full disclosure: I'm a fatty working on losing it. But I can squat and deadlift over my own bodyweight. And I know I can dip and pulldown over your bodyweight.

Yours in roaming...

Now if only the entire country would take up this stance on fatties. Just slaughter them all. It would benefit the nation and the world. Everyone knows this.

I dont get why this is an issue. It's not like eharmony or match.com banned fat people. It's a site meant for "beautiful people" as rated by their members. If you become un-beautiful and your rating goes down, then you get kicked out. Sounds pretty easy to me.

I doubt I would make it onto the site to begin with, but you don't hear me bitching about being excluded.

You shouldnt be doing any squats, benches or dips if you're a fatty. Hit the track 2 x a day for 40 minutes with heart rate in zone 4 on HRM. (once a day will be enough after you de-fatted)

I used to be fat like 320 and could lift a house till I got a clue lifting is bad.

weightlifting is a great way to trim fat. and its easier on the joints than the constant abuse on the joints that running provides

So? HS fkn was awesome. Fine pie everywhere and forced to be with you at least 8 hours a day.

I don't have the expertise to argue with you, but I imagine just about everyone in Health and Fitness would disagree.
As they say, it's all about diet, then exercise. And weightlifting is endorsed so that when you are in a caloric deficit your body tries to maintain muscle, thus losing mostly fat.

I suppose this advice may change at higher weights though; you mentioned being around 320. I'm not sure how the advice would change at that weight, but I'm guessing it would be focus on diet and maybe cardio (which I guess is what you did).

Also, props on the weight loss.

Not even. Esp if you're a mesomoph like me. I look at weights and gain 2" on bicepts. that mass/muscle is a waste unless I get into a bar fight and bad on heart.

I was 6'4" 220 in my prime like after HS and involved in 3 sports. Then I did the whole "gym" thing after weighing about 275 and ~10 years of inactivity - ballooned up to 320, in the gym!! Sure I could press 5 plates, squat a Volkswagen but my health was shit and tire went nowhere till I discoved running.

Incidentally I always hated running ran 100 and 200 in HS and that was it no real distance - now I can't go a day w/o.

As a fatty myself, I don't see the problem. They have a right to establish their clientelle as they see fit. Go make an overweight dating site and ban them from using it. Then everything will be right with the world.

Screw dieting. I like to eat whatever. It's bad for you too, a short term gimmick for those too lazy to run. Plus high cardio works all systems endocrine, lymphatic, nervous, digestion, etc to peak performance. Weights and diet do not.

Muscle mags are crap seen thousands of fat former and current body builders/football players with heart problems. Please just show me one fat cross country runner, some who take in 7-10 K cal a day according to runners world articles I've read..

Like I said, I can't argue this. I do want to clarify a bit though. When I say diet I don't mean a short term change like atkins or whatever. I know it's cliche, but I mean diet as a lifestyle.

Optimally, doing both would be the best of both worlds. Muscle burns more calories than fat and running can be too much for the joints of many fat people. Diet, Weight Lifting and Cardio is better than just one or two of the three.
