Apropos. No one laughed when you posted that you had cancer.
cancer != fat

Cancer is not a choice. Fat is, especially holiday pounds, and for that matter, joining that site is a choice. Fail.
Best and most honest person there is...fatties simply are not welcome. I like the use of the word "roam", like they are grazing buffalo infesting the site.
Didn't you recently post on a popular bodybuilding website about not being able to do a pullup? Or was it coincidence that it was another Spidey from Kentucky?
Full disclosure: I'm a fatty working on losing it. But I can squat and deadlift over my own bodyweight. And I know I can dip and pulldown over your bodyweight.
Yours in roaming...

so, its like high school, on the internet
You shouldnt be doing any squats, benches or dips if you're a fatty. Hit the track 2 x a day for 40 minutes with heart rate in zone 4 on HRM. (once a day will be enough after you de-fatted)
I used to be fat like 320 and could lift a house till I got a clue lifting is bad.

weightlifting is a great way to trim fat. and its easier on the joints than the constant abuse on the joints that running provides
I don't have the expertise to argue with you, but I imagine just about everyone in Health and Fitness would disagree.
As they say, it's all about diet, then exercise. And weightlifting is endorsed so that when you are in a caloric deficit your body tries to maintain muscle, thus losing mostly fat.
I suppose this advice may change at higher weights though; you mentioned being around 320. I'm not sure how the advice would change at that weight, but I'm guessing it would be focus on diet and maybe cardio (which I guess is what you did).
Also, props on the weight loss.
Screw dieting. I like to eat whatever. It's bad for you too, a short term gimmick for those too lazy to run. Plus high cardio works all systems endocrine, lymphatic, nervous, digestion, etc to peak performance. Weights and diet do not.
Muscle mags are crap seen thousands of fat former and current body builders/football players with heart problems. Please just show me one fat cross country runner, some who take in 7-10 K cal a day according to runners world articles I've read..
