We just have too many gosh darn regulations in America. Observe the economic paradise of China.

yummy lead chromate going right into the drinking water, for a double whammy of lead poisoning and hexavalent chromium poisoning:

Chinese Factory Fire Burns for Hours Because No One Can See the Smoke Through the Smog

Smog in the nation’s Zheijiang province prevented residents from noticing that a building was actively burning down. On Monday, a fire at a furniture factory in the province burned out of control for three full hours before anyone even noticed the smoke through the smog that regularly blankets the region.
According to China’s state news agency Xinhua:

“Because of the thick fog pervading the air at the time, the initial smoke and flames produced by the fire took an unexpected almost three hours to be discovered by nearby residents.”

China's polluted water breeding superbugs, extremely antibiotic resistant bacteria

some otherwise harmless bacteria are becoming drug-resistant, according to a study led by Yu Xin, a scientist at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia:

The Cuyahoga river in Ohio, having caught fire for the 13th time (since it was first reported in the late 19th century) in 1969.

The Ohio river also caught fire many times prior to regulations going into effect. Organic waste discharges into the nation’s waterways declined by 98 percent as a result of the new regulations.

And the smog comes and goes. The water pollution is more persistent and the soil pollution is even more so.

The Chinese government has admitted that a huge percentage of its land/soil is highly tainted, a figure which is very likely to be very much underinflated.

Well, they did paint a whole deforested mountain green once I think just to make it look better I believe.

This is why I find it ironic that liberals are such proponents of free trade. Manufacturing processes and fossil fuels cause pollution. If you regulate them to be cleaner, the cost of goods go up. But if the cost of goods go up, the house of cards economic facade comes crashing down.

Can't have it both ways. All we did was outsource our pollution to Asia.

In the short run, yes costs do go up. In the long run: better technology and efficient extraction methods emerge (innovate or die), prices fall due to production efficiencies (msc = mpc), less waste is produced and the economy is better off as a whole because of new technology, new job opportunities and investment in new capital.

Only "liberals" are proponents of free trade and moving factories overseas?

Can't we rationalize all of this as some sort of experimental project to create a super-evlovled sentient bacterial sludge monster which will intuitively genetically modify and bioengineer itself to solve climate change by first spreading throughout the world, then 'fixing' it?

The biggest polluters love the environment the most.

The population density in China versus here in American has nothing to do with it I am sure.

That's true. Some of our nation's worst superfund sites are in rural areas. Some of our worst air pollution is in agricultural areas (burning off fields and irrigation ditches).

Leftist fears often manifest themselves in the most extreme manner. Regulations will be cut in the U.S. under Trump. That's something you can take to the bank. Our nation is not going to end up like those Armageddon-like pictures the OP posted.

This forum isn't a therapy group. Tell your shrink about these fears and if prescribed meds, take them.

I'm mostly sure he actually works at a Superfund site.

What environmental regulations can be cut without deleterious effects to the environment or the health of US citizens? Specifically.

Oh we all know that's coming.

Oh it's not? Why's that? Just because?

Guys, just keep repeating the mantra, Hope and Change, Hope and Change. In this case at least for you there's not hope but the change, it's coming. If it gets bad enough there is a whole world of open borders out there just waiting for you. Or not. But you owe it to yourselves to find out. Somewhere out there is the utopia you both desire and deserve.

LA was pretty close to that in the past.

Deregulate and it will head that way again, i why China is so screwed up.

You're either pretty clueless or trolling half the time.

Actually more than half the time, so won't bother reading them in the future.

My statement wasn't exclusive. I said I find it ironic that liberals would be supportive of free trade, as it is highly exploitative of developing nations.

The oligarchs obviously love free trade, and they are rarely liberal, but at least in America, one Clinton furthered free trade more so than perhaps any other President and another Clinton lost an election largely because of the backlash against it.

Yeah, because there's no happy medium between "no regulation free for all, pollute at will" and "hyper regulated government stranglehold red tape" at all. Obviously, any attempt to curb regulation or remove onerous / burdensome regs that don't have a good cost/benefit balance puts us squarely in "no regulation free for all" land. /sarcasm

Do you guys not bother to think about anything before posting this drivel?
