This is why I will never fly a Korean Airline

And If I have to, I will be praying the whole time!

from a KAL safety audit done by Delta

<< . The Captain should NEVER have to argue with dispatcher re extra fuel if needed. If, in the opinion of the dispatcher an unreasonable decision has been made, this information should be reported to the Chief pilot of the fleet who may at a later stage choose in to discuss this with the Captain at a convenient time. As the dispatcher has no 747 command experience, he can not possibly make an informed decision about the fuel requirements. Management should in turn set up an extra fuel tracking system to monitor extra uplifts so they can be controlled >>

Then there is this incident involving Asiana. Just trying to do a U-turn was rather crazy, but then going to full power was pure insanity. The power levels to get a 727 moving, which weighs about 1/4 as much as 747, generate 60 mile an hour winds behind the aircraft, even 60 feet away. Or if you want a visual aid download this

The Chinese arent much better Example 1, and oh yeah, a Chinese A340 took off from a taxiway just a few days ago, and just barely averted a disaster.

<< One can only imagine what the passengers thought let alone ATC who we believe unfortunately see this type of thing fairly frequently due largely to the fact that is almost unknown for a Chinese carrier to perform a go-around as apparently it's considered a significant loss of face. >>

Haha... and landing like that actually saves face?

The same type of thing happened on Swissair 111....The captain kept telling the F/O to leave him alone

I don't know about KAL, but Asiana stewardesses have too many b!tches. Their service was sh*t.

Oh yeah.. for some reason, they didn't appreciate the fact that I spoke English (I find it more comfortable than Korean). And when I speak to them in Korean because their English sucks, the service is degraded by at least 50% since I'm a young Korean who looks like a late teen. (Koreans look down on younger people a lot.)

Just to clarify: I was speaking in English with my siblings and spoke in Korean to the stewardesses. I didn't make any efforts to intentionally piss them off. They just served me like sh*t.

Just to give an example: I was switching a plane in San Francisco. I (and my siblings) was "escorted" (I had no US Visa) along with some Korean dude (late 20s). The Asiana person tried to be polite and sh*t to the older dude, but when I asked a few simple questions, she didn't even pay attention to me. I don't know wtf was wrong with her (maybe she was deaf?) but the Asiana service was sh*t.

As soon as I arrived to the Vancouver airport, I felt like I was home. I was treated FAIRLY and EQUALLY. I was talking on the cell phone during customs lineup and a lady politely asked me to turn it off. No looking down or any BS (that fake courtesy sh*t that gives me goosebumps). Yeah.. I never liked Canada as much as I did on that day.

Flew KAL when I went on midtour from Korea back to the states (and unfortunately back again :frown: ) a couple of years ago. Gotta say that although I didn't really care for Korean girls, the stewardesses were pretty hot and extremely nice.
