well, evolution sorta works. Not sure what this game is trying to do....i mean, you are making decisions and putting differernt things on your
creature. Making decisions is not what evolution is about....heck, no one really knows what evolution is about. Its kinda just there, and confuses you more than religion. Not saying religion isn't confusing...

That's WAY cool.

I have to wonder, though, how closely the way it judges speed/agility/etc. reflects the real world. I mean, a cheetah and a leopard don't look all that different, but there's a huge speed differential...is it possible to do that in the game, or would have have to add extra legs and such?

I think it would be awesome if you had the ability to make it a FULLY online game, though. You'd evolve your creature all the way up, take over your world, build a space armada, shell nearby races into submission, found an empire...eventually whole regions of space would be yours. People who aren't geared-up for war could make their stuff on the outskirts of the galaxy (the neutral zone?), and eventually the inner sections would be a whole bunch of empires of the strongest players. They would have huge battles, form allegences, develop better warriors and ships, man...it would be like every sci-fi book/movie ever. I would love to be in on that.

I really like this game but my wife brough up a very interesting point. It's intelligent design. Of course it has to be, there's not a lot of fun unless you're essentially god.... but it's really not evolution.

Nonetheless I want this game... when's it coming out?

DE is the best combo of fps/rpg, but Spore is definitely a new direction as far as RTS style games go. I'm glad to see that someone in the industry is finally being innovative again.
