This really is silly

I keep fretting and obsessing over cpu temps that I know are inaccurate.

MSI board. So it underreads by 10-15.

PAL 6035. Sanded down with 1500 grit.

Chasis temp reads 21C

Delta fan...idle 31C
Sanyo fan...idle 34C

ARRRRRRRGH!

I know there are many factors involved. Its winter ... room temp is about 63.8F (dont know what that is in C)

Should I stick with the sanyo? or is that really not doing the job?

From past experience the load temps are greater between the 2 fans by almost 4 C. And will moving up to an Antec 830 make a difference from the 282 case Im using now (120mmm intake...80mm exhaust plus antec cyclone pci blower plus Hard drive cooler in front).

I am embarrased by this post.

Is your current setup giving you problems, or are the temps just bugging you? If it's not giving you probs, stop obsesing. I know, easier said than done.

What's so embaressing about your posts?

The Sanyo fan is definately still keeping your cpu cool enough, and you probably won't see any difference in "overclocking-potential" between the two fans.

I would guess that which one you use boils down to how much noise you're tolerant of.

The noise of the delta is wearing. I will go with the sanyo.
My worry is more of how the computer will behave in summer when the temps in my house are higher. Certainly it is otherwise stable...no lockups etc (although after my first attempt at putting on a heatsink resulted in temps of 65C because I had put on the HS wrong.....but cpu is still working!

Last question.
Would the sanyo fan be best with the PAL or the FOP38 HS?

I'd say Alpha, since its design is a bit better, and is better suited for use with a smaller CFM fan.
