I'm not counting tires, like most of you have. Why? Tires are consumable, especially in a sports car that is actually used as a sports car. Autocross, track days, etc. Tires aren't really a car part, they're just another required consumable to make your car work, just like gas, oil, fluids, etc...

So as for my cars, here we go...

Miata: either my wheels (Team Dynamics ProRace 2) or my roll bar (Hard-Dog Hardcore w/ double brace + harness bar).

Accord: 100% stock. A car this boring is not worth modding!

edit: The drums that I move around in my Accord are worth about twice the value of the car... Oh boy.

I tend to buy a lot of stuff used, but it still kills me every time I look back.

Car: 2003 RSX-S
TEIN SS-P coilovers (used): $800
K-PRO ECU (new): $900
JR Supercharger (used): $2000
OZ Ultraleggera Wheels w/ Falken Azenis (used): $800
Intake(used)/Header(new)/Exhuast(used): $600
misc (hids/sway bars/catch-can/etc...)...

Close to $6000 in mods when all said and done >_<

For me it's usually wheels - powdercoated set of BBS RCs on the S4, forged SSR on the M3. Latest addition is a retardedly expensive intake mani:

Exdeath, Apex etc should have fun entries.

That's a $3000 part while on sale right now.

Very expensive for an intake, but very nice looking.

I love my M3 and think it may get me to go into brain-damage money.

For me it was the $5,300 warranty so far.

I have been lucky on wheels and other parts living in S. Florida.

I picked up a brand new set of 1998 Cobra Wheels with ES100 tires in a 1% off 235/45R17 size over the 235/40R17 that is a perfect match for less than half MSRP. The original buyer put down a 50% down payment and never showed up.

In the end though don't you spend about $1500-2000 per year on tires with the M?

Always part. Modded cars don't sell for as much and you generally don't recoup anywhere as much money if you try to bundle it.

In the end it's a lot of work...I just usually include the parts free.

I have tried to sell new parts I never used for 50% and got mostly 25% offers and flames.

New 50% is lucky.....used maybe 20% off the car.

too much work for me.

I've done basically nothing to my car so far, just getting it wiped out my funding pretty badly.

But it does have a $200 HID projector upgrade. Worth every penny, and probably worth the three days of work.

Spent about $1000 (installation included) for a 6.5 gallon fuel tank for my Ducati Hypermotard.

My full Bassani exhaust was around $2000 and the wheels and tires I have on are worth well over $3000

I've thrown this on my M3...

lol

my truck is stock except for the kenwood HU, and my civic is bone stock besides the headlight upgrades. i found some used black halo projectors with halogens in them for 40 bucks. cant find them for less than 130 online, so it was worth it to me. i can convert to HID later if i feel like it.

id love to go all aftermarket on both my vehicles, but i just cant justify the funds for it. eventually, when the kids are grown and living their own lives, ill do my bobber (79 cb750 in the backyard) project and eventually a speed project (antique ice cream truck with 550+ HP) but for now just keeping things rolling is a bigger priority for me.

The most expensive single mod on my 2010 Mustang GT would have to be the Saleen VI.5 twin screw supercharger. About $6500 retail. With the JDM tune and other bits it gives me around 500hp at the flywheel.

Is that carbon fiber? It can handle the heat?

Just an FYI, most will assume JDM is Japanese Domestic Market.

Saying this as a JDM Engineering tune would still probably be confusing.

Yeah, I realized that right after I posted. As I said earlier, it's an unfortunate name. I hope the link was self explanatory.
