China is kind of like the US when we had slavery.
Forcing people to do things against their will gets shit done and puts more money in the average persons pocket, but it is morally reprehensible.
Slavery = Chinese work camps, sweatshops, prison camps, illegal organ harvesting, ignoring minimum standards for products etc..

Chinese associations in the United States had applied to hold a ceremony in front of the US President?s residence to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC.
This doesn't see like a standard diplomatic courtesy as some seem to be suggesting. According the OP's original article this is a celebration of the 60th anniversary of founding of the People's Republic of China. Why the fuck the White House is celebrating the founding of the Communist People's Republic of China is beyond comprehension. Instead of holding the ceremony on the White House lawn, or across the street, or wherever the fuck it's going to be held, maybe the Chicoms should hold the ceremony in the middle of the the Vietnam memorial and really rub it in good.
This isn't the 50s you know. Who cares if China is communist? That's their business. The average persons standard of living has actually increased since the communist takeover. Communism seems to work for them.

Yeah no shit, their government actually still allows companies to dump chemicals right into their water supply and then when it hits the company, they tell them sternly to not perhaps do it... or at least not so much.

Yeah I know. It's da New World Order.
Should we buddy up with Cuba too? How bout we invite Castro on the White House lawn and celebrate Cuba for wonderful country it is. :disgust: Perhaps a more appropriate place would be to hold the ceremony in Miami then dedicate a bronze a statue of Castro and stick it on Miami beach?
Maybe the entire US Congress should head over to China and celebrate the 4th of July in Red Square? Think China will go for it? After all it would only be fair in the "new global village".

Talk about an overreaction. It's customary to raise a flag of a visiting nation. i'm sure the Chinese do the same when a high ranking US politician visits.

Stop shopping at Walmart or shut the fuck up people.
But where else am I suppose to buy pants, a Happy Meal, and a set of tires at the same time?
A ceremony, indeed, will take place. But it won't happen on the White House grounds -- rather, on the Ellipse, on the other side of E Street from the presidential residence
