The problem was never "assumptions people make about homeless being bums." The problem continues to be that bleeding hearts lie to themselves about the real problems and, thus, we can never address or solve them. Indeed, we get attacked for even pointing it out.

This man's alcoholism could have been identified and addressed. He could have been saved. Instead, by sharing and defending this fiction, you and other terrible people convinced more people to cluelessly subsidize and turn a blind eye to alcoholism.
