A homeless man was given a hundred dollars, and what he did will make you cry."

Ugh. If that ain't click-bait, I don't know what is.
who cares?
Do you for certain know the motives of the guy who posted the video on youtube?

Are they taking money out of your pocket to pay these people?

Do you know or certain how much money they make on these video?

The story in and of itself is a good story.

Sorry that you and other have issues, even if they are misguided!

What are you talking about? I'm talking about that insufferable click-bait writing style in that post. I made many others. Why did you chose to quote and reply to that little observation/critique about the article's writing style?

"One weird trick..."
"You won't believe what this..."
"[insert institution you may have to negotiate here] don't want you to know..."
"Genius [insert local area] (wo)man finds way to [insert accomplishment]..."

Ugh. Do you click that crap too?!

Now, why don't you respond to my observation about his path from the CA-91 East ramp on Euclid Street in Anaheim, CA to La Palma Park? I think this tells all we need to know about his "motivations."

Such a shame.

Burns $100 at a liquor store buying groceries that are probably twice as much or more than anywhere else. Could have bought some vitamins and 90 lbs. of rice, then been fed for much of the year.

This is why I don't waste my money donating it. The only winner here is Habinajabob down at Uncle Sam's Liquor.

So lets get this straight...
This has since been reported by mainstream news organizations!
You would think that is this was a story only to put on You tube so the person can make money on the story that the mainstream news would be all over that angle of the story....
People call it click bait because?? They are just being idiots!

Then we get this sort of ifiotic thinking --
Such a shame.

This homeless man gave to others who needed food.
If he did by a years worth of rice where was he to store the rice?
I would venture by your comment that you would have to ask mommy or daddy for your allowance money.......

No, the "homeless man" if you want to call him that, since this was after all - a complete setup - was contributing to Habinajabob at the liquor store. That is whom made the profits. Congrats, some people ate for the day. It was complete shit food at completely overloaded prices. Throughout the day they could have gone to just about any homeless shelter and they would gladly feed people.

It's honestly not hard to get some grub here in the US. What we WANT to see, are homeless people get themselves off their feet and be successful with their own lives - instead of saying "Well, I'll just eat/drink/smoke/toke for the day".

No, the "homeless man" if you want to call him that, since this was after all - a complete setup <--- I guess you are right...that's why the mainstream news media picked up on this story!! - was contributing to Habinajabob at the liquor store. That is whom made the profits. <-- nobody cares who made the profits off that $100!! How do you know that a regular supermarket was not too far to walk so he went to the most convenient place loaded up on anything that was food to give to his hungry friends? I never took you for an idiot!!

Congrats, some people ate for the day.<-- Yes and they are better off!! It beats not eating and being hungry!! Why such the attitude?

It was complete shit food at completely overloaded prices. Throughout the day they could have gone to just about any homeless shelter and they would gladly feed people. <-- you do not know what you are talking about...that is very obvious!! That is not true! How do you know that perhaps the nearest homeless shelter could have been miles away! Not all homeless shelters feed the homeless every day of the year!! Sounds like you have some real hostilities towards the homeless! Care to elaborate who took a dump in your Cherrios?

It's honestly not hard to get some grub here in the US. --You tell that to the children who are hungry and to the parents who cannot purchase food for their families!! There are children who go hungry everyday.....so quit being sao smug and suck it in and admit you havew no clue, other than to try to sound like a stuck up rich Conservative Christian Republican!!

What we WANT to see, are homeless people get themselves off their feet and be successful with their own lives - instead of saying "Well, I'll just eat/drink/smoke/toke for the day".<-- wow, are you really that dense?? Not all homeless people are lazy good for nothing people who eat, drink and do drugs! There are quite a few who through no fault of their own are homeless and just living day to day!! Then of courser there are those who enjoy being homeless! Yet you tell me how they are sup[pose to get themselves on their feet?? I find it appalling that you would honestly believe that a man who takes $100 and purchases food--regardless from where he got it and then find other homeless people who have children who are hungry and gives them the food is a set up!! You cannot with a $100 take that money and create a new life!!
I truthfully during the time of Christmas I cannot believe that you are coming across as being so ignorant1

I truthfully during any time ever cannot believe you are so ignorant as to have ignored that we know exactly where this is and already traced his route. THAT is "how" we know. It was NOT the most convenient unless he was looking for the closest liquor store. He passed several game stations, convenience stores, small market stores, and even a drug store (Walgreen's) along the way and the park was even right next to a 7-11. I didn't see $100 worth of food. If it isn't totally set up in the first place then I totally expect that there is alcohol in that bag too. Even his story doesn't make sense. He says he has been on the street a matter of months but he implies a lot longer when he says that nothing like that has ever happened to him in his "life."

The guy filming this makes prank videos. Suck it up: you've been had. Also, the click vait criticism is directed at the writer or the article. It's written like click bait. Boo hoo. Deal with it.

My first thought was; it's on the internet it must be true.

My real thought is; it does not address the real problem. The monetary system does not work any more.

We have harnessed enough technology to sustain everyone. Money and our political institution is antiquated. As a society we have made great strides in all facets of life except these two areas.

doesn't change my mind at all about homeless people.

every weekend when i get up early and drive by 7-11 and home depot across the street, i see probably 40-50 spanish dudes standing around just HOPING someone will pick them up for a day job so they can make some money. i don't think i've ever seen a white or black guy waiting around with them, they are typically on the corners begging for money.

had this guy spent that $100 to get some clothes and go stand next to the guys waiting outside of home depot for a job, then i would have been impressed.

instead we have him living another day and giving others handouts, and tomorrow he will be back on the corner begging people for money they worked hard to get.

EDIT:

just saw this is a necro with an update about his death due to alcohol abuse. yeah real winner here.

I didn't see this back in December but it doesn't change my view either. The electronics store I worked for was near a pretty popular panhandling area so I got to see a lot of 'homeless' buy laptops, big screen TVs, bring their cars in for car stereos etc

Lots of panhandlers are not homeless.

Its almost like your view is really more about panhandlers than homeless people?

That said, I dislike panhandlers, people that actively go around bothering people.

Poor guy. Stupid YouTube prankster only contributed to his death (and more). It bugs me that the previous story is being reported as real along with this news. We need to expose the real problems, like chronic alcoholism, and address those instead of deluding people with fake videos addressing our (obviously correct) assumptions about some homeless people.

Weird. I think I used to go to that liquor store.

There's plenty of other, cheaper alternatives just down the street if you're looking for food. There's even a walmart like two blocks down. Why buy "food" from a liquor store? Katella ave represent.

edit: lol. just read some more of the thread. Obviously he bought $180 worth of alcohol and $20 worth of doritos and spongecake (looked like he gave some dude chips).
