I can't yet bring myself to spend $5 on a single pair of socks...I just can't imagine any sock being that good. Looks like they are made of of mostly acrylic and a little nylon and spandex. Doesn't sound special. What makes these socks worth $5, let alone $15?
I'm imagining this like shoes, where the $15 pair is built exactly the same, in the same factory, with the same materials as the $100 shoes...only differing in the logo stitched on.
Honest question, I've never really seen a sock "better" than the budget no name socks I get. I have gotten much thicker/hotter winter socks for 2-3$, but I don't wear them most of the time because they don't help with anything outside snow. My friend always spends $5-8 a pair on name brand stuff and they're very similar to my various cheapos.
I do the occasional walk/hike/bike ride once a week to once a month or so depending on the season, usually a few miles and never more than 50. I have some smashed/broken toes that make a wide spread but have a narrow foot otherwise. Since all shoes are extremely pointy I usually wear a size or two larger trying to get enough room for my toes (and never do, so some are permanently deformed). I also make my own arch support inserts since I can't find anything remotely designed for a human.
OK I think I forgot what I was going on about...just that I guess I don't know/understand what a sock can do to make any difference. Especially if shoes themselves don't seem to differ much.
