Those in web-design, what do you use for a program?

I used to do web-design as a side business about 8 years ago now, and am thinking about getting back into it. What do you guys/gals use for it these days? Is WordPress acceptable?

I'm working on a side project now. Using web expression 4, notepad ++ , and wamp.

Depends what you want to do.

Text editor only methods tend to be for gurus who know web design forwards and backwards.

Dreamweaver is great if you're interested in having a live preview of your site in a split-screen setup (as you code). You can also use dreamweaver to edit wordpress themes if you want a blog.

I do like dreamweaver and it also includes a very nice program for uploading files to your server.

I used to use dreamweaver but I couldn't get used to its clunky interface. Not sure how much better the new one has gotten.

Text editor, but I never build stuff from scratch.
Most of the time I take something already done and adapt it for my needs.

Dreamweaver mostly for new sites. I like the CSS support, file manager for sites and template management. The live preview is pretty cool but really isn't 100% accurate. It's a nice guide though.

PSPad for HTML/CSS editing, Photoshop and Irfanview for graphics, WAMP and LAMP for testing. I like WordPress and Drupal for CMS. I used to love Joomla, but the lack of built in custom urls turned me off to it - all the good plugins that do this are paid only.
