Unfortunately by the time you will be conclusively proven wrong by hardware running actual code, no will will care to remember about this pointless debate because we're talking about things pretty far into the future (512-bit AVX). That is unless you single handedly keep this thread alive up until that point Code compiled for AVX and the VEX prefix will run on future AMD processors starting with Bulldozer, JFAMD has confirmed that in this very thread. That should end the discussion.
