In response, to the sticky:

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

Primarily used for gaming. I'd also like to try my hand at overclocking the new phenoms. And with a black edition proc I think that it'd be easier to learn

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

around $1000

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

The states, probably newegg.

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.

More of an AMD fan, but I like NVidia GPU's. Which presents me with a slight problem considering xfire and SLI. In the past I've had driver issues with AMD's gpus but right now if I built a system, I'd drop in my 9800gtx+. However with the mobo I've chosen, I'd be cornhold into an ATI GPU if I wanted more than one. But I'm willing to give ATI another chance.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

I'd like to do a new full install preferably once W7 goes live, perhaps with the addition of my 500Gb HD with all my data on it, but I'm seeing some good cupons for vista ultimate with free W7 upgrades, minus the psu and gpu. I recently purchased a 750watt corsair PSU, and a 9800GTX+ that both seem to be doing just fine. And I'd just assume not spend the cash on a new gpu at least until AMD releases their new GPU's, or once I'm down three tiers on the GPU list.

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

Haven't seen many threads regarding this sadly.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

Like I said I've never OC'd before but I'd like to give it a shot.

8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with.

1680x1050

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?

Depending on suggestions, either very very soon, or once W7 releases. So November..ish or sooner.

These are the parts I was leaning towards.

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819103674

Mobo : http://www.newegg.com/Product/...130223&Tpk=MSI%20790fx

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820146777

HDD's: 1tb WD black caviar, and 1 WD velicraptor 300Gb

HSF: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835233003

OS: Vista ultimate w/upgrade to W7, or just wait on Windows 7

In regards to the release of the new 965 processor, I'd just assume spend less money on the 955 or even the 720 BE. One of the real large things I've been waring with is whether or not I need 4 cores or if I could just skate by one 3 with the 720.

Mobo: I'm rather taken with MSI's recent release, this is one of the few pieces that I have my heart set on. I really want this mobo for some reason

RAM: Never had Mushkin RAM before but, they seem to be kinda one size fits all, and the timings are tighter that some I've seen. Suggestions here are welcome

HDD's: I've been kind of looking for an alternative to HDD's ie. SSD's but I think for the time being they're just much too expensive. I wouldn't run in RAID, but I'd use the velociraptor as a boot drive and the larger drive for music and other things. But if you think I could squeeze my budge into an SSD I'd think on it. The intel, and OCZ drives are especially nice imo.

HSF: What AT recommended in their latest builders guide. Like I said earlier I don't know much about OCing, so recommendations here would be very welcome as well.

OS: I'm still stuck in XP 32bit and with the upcoming release of W7 I think it's about time for me to make the switch. The question really remains whether or not I should wait till W7 releases or if I should spend the $$$ now.

Thanks for the input,
