Its $1.25 more than I paid for it last night when I was bored and didn't want to do housework. It is $18.75 on Amazon right now. The game does scale very well. I'm on a Q9550 and a GTX 260 and it still looks pretty good.

I'd spend $20 on games like this all the time if I wasn't afraid I'd never get anything else done. Started the download on steam, took a shower and played a good 4 hours after that before going to bed. The wife is out of town this weekend, so it looks like a bachelor weekend of doritos, fast food and video games.

I just finished it. Loved the setting, fighting can get annoying because my mouse is getting weak. But the story should have been longer. Halfway through you know what is going to happen. They should have had more main missions I think. Besides the fighting, the shooting and driving parts were easy.

I loved the graphics and car/bikes. I didn't do many of the side missions. Didn't know you could steal cars. I should reinstall and do all side quests first. I think I got all but one jade statue. Reminded me of Shenmue with guns. I miss that game.

Shenmue was a lot slower paced game the way I remember it. This is just a GTA in Hon Kong, but done right. I thought the fighting action was fun, foot pursuits even better, and the little things like using a gun would get the heat on you, but using only your melee skills will not. I also like how you can smash the crap out of a car you just bought then throw it off a boat dock, only to have it magically reappear in your parking garage.

Yeh it was a good game and you can play over again because of all the fighting sequences to try. I just wish the story was more involved it was very engaging from the beginning though.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. Taking my time with the main story and doing a lot of side missions and finding collectibles.

I'm way late to the game but gotta bump this after playing only 10hrs at this point.

This game is way awesome. If it is true Activision just sold this game off, that was a huge mistake.

Is it true GTA games are like this? I like the martial arts style combat vs just shooting. Also the HK setting is awesome... this is the first game ever I will (intentionally, some just came bundled in $5 sales) likely buy DLC for, it is that good!

I'm so glad I tried this demo on the PS3... just waited for a Steam sale and picked it up this past one where it was $5. If they do a sequel I will pre-order.

GTA was not like it, other than the open world driving style.

I enjoyed sleeping dogs. I don't play games often at all, maybe 1-2 per year, and it's one that I played all the way through.

+1, hi res texture packed helped a lot.

My biggest gripes were some of the major detail elements that they missed. Like on the motorcycle you first get, the brake caliper is on one side and the rotor is on the other. Glaring stuff like that bothered me.

But, I really enjoyed the artistic element, contrasting colors, artwork, etc.

Yes and I enabled it in the menu.

It doesn't look terrible, it just doesn't look all that great either. They did a really good job with water and when it rains, but outside of that it looks kinda dated to me. Or maybe I have a setting wrong? I play at 2560x1440 and it seems to give my 3570k & 670gtx a run for their money.

Again, I don't think it matters all that much.

Once I saw it as a menu option, I just right clicked the game in my library and clicked something like "search for DLC". Then there was one more button I had to click before I saw it in the list, but I found it and it downloaded.

This freaking game is awesome. Physics are a lot less realistic and has a different feel from GTA but it doesn't need to clone it. The hand to hand combat is akin to Arkham series, very intuitive and makes me feel like a badass to roll off dudes backs, roundhouse kick, disarm and knife the shit out of baddies. Addictive game.
