I don't like the movement system in this game on foot, I hate how there's a walk button and how the sprint/parkour button are the same damn button.

On the other hand, driving is the best I've ever felt in a free world game. A game with a name like Grand Theft Auto could get it so absolutely wrong and this game can get it so fun is crazy to me.

Performance on Nvidia is abysmal. 1920x1080, everything maxed out on SLI 670GTXs average 39fps with a minimum in the low 20s. With AA on High instead of extreme, it runs alright, averages in the high 70s with lows in the high 40s.

Funny, I'm exactly the opposite. On-foot movement and parkour feels great, but I think the driving leaves something to be desired. It's not necessarily bad; but just mediocre.

While we're making comparisons to GTA: I give GTA4 crap for a lot of things, but if there's one thing it excels at, it's vehicle physics and driving model. I have yet to see another open-world city game that touches GTA4 in terms of vehicle handling. Driver San Francisco comes close, but not quite. Sleeping Dogs, again, feels fine; but the vehicles don't have that same amount of depth.

Interesting. It's an AMD "Gaming Evolved" title, so it's entirely possible they didn't optimize it for Nvidia at all.

Here's a few more screens.

I just wanted to ADD that the developers had GSP (Georges St-Pierre) work with them on the combat animations/combat and the "feel" of combat in the game. There are supposedly some moves of his reflected in this as well, ei. you ll probably be able to "superman" punch someone.

I think thats pretty badass.

So is it confirmed that with nvidia inspector that sli works with the correct flag set? Does the framerate improve noticeably and what is the gpu usage like?

So using Nvidia inspector the SLI compatibility flag works.

The benchmark is pretty reliable too from what I can tell. I can't get a screenshot of the results because it gives me a totally black screenshot but I wrote down the numbers.

Everything maxed out at 2560x1440. I changed the AA modes but everything else was set to max quality. 16x AF set in Nvidia control panel but I don't know if it works.

SLI not working
AA Extreme: Avg 21.8ps, Max 28.7fps, Min 15.3fps
AA High: Avg 45.9fps, Max 78.4fps, Min 29.6fps

SLI Compatibility set
AA Extreme: Avg 43.7fps, Max 64.5fps, Min 30fps
AA High: Avg 87.1fps, Max 125.7fps, Min 57.5fps

Game is quite fun for any sandbox fan. The fighting system is pretty much straight out of Batman but with less animation variety. Much better than other games in this genre but I would have liked some more animations. The rest is very GTA like which is a good thing. Haven't got far enough to have guns so I'm not sure how the shooting is.

Game performance is solid IMO. I run an i5 and single GTX570 and I can run @1080p nearly max... only have to turn down AA. In practice it's smooth with minimal hiccup and looks great.

Be sure to unlock more fight moves as you level up. The further you get into the game, the better variety of combat you can do. IMO I think it's better than Batman, the fighting is more satisfying and requires a little bit more thinking, (but then again I'm a fan of martial arts so I may be biased here).

For those of you that are leftys with above arverage larger hands that remap the movement to the arrow keys this game WILL NOT allow this because It seems you can't remap the arrow keys is due to how they hardcoded the arrow keys for you to interact with your cell phone and some other menus. The controls are fairly poor in this respect and some others (constantly having to hit enter or backspace to accept/cancel out of menus instead of use your mouse, for instance). So for now I have to HOPEFULLY wait for a patch. BUYER BEWARE!

For people who play with WASD or a controller,..this looks to be a fun game that looks very good DX 11, great graphc options. Seems this developer optomized this game for PC well graphics wise but pulled the old console crap for the keymapping\controls/menus. Menus that require scrolling, like the key bind menu, they have that annoying way of using the scroll wheel and you can't click the scroll bar and drag up and down. there is no FOV setting like in Alan Wake either.

At least they didnt have the "to begin game press start" in the main menu..LOL!

Just picked this up. Friend linked me to a Russian site he bought the game for $15 from...

LOL, hopefully Steam doesn't revoke it for being out of region. Didn't have to use a VPN or any such thing. Just activated the game and it worked.

I gotta ask, link to the site?

I would link it, but surprisingly...

Wife just got home and got a call as she was coming in from the CC company saying there is a suspicious $400 charge.... The $15 charge is there according to them, but also a $400 charge. They won't tell us the name of the company that made the charge though, so we don't know if it the same. They did say that the charge came in after the $15 purchase of the key though. Wow...

My guess is that it probably is as I've heard Russia is pretty rampant for fraud. Lesson learned... now to answer to the wife for using our credit cards on shady Russian sites.

LOL, I'm sorry to laugh but you can't blame me either right? hahaha

I deserve it. Just fired off an email to my friend cursing him and telling him to call his CC company. First and last time I try using one of these foreign sites for a cdkey. Definitely not worth it.

Yes, framerate almost doubles. GPU usage is 99% on both my cards.

I think I'll open a benchmark thread

So I ended up getting another 20% off coupon from GMG and bought the game for $36. Unfortunately I had some RAM fail in my gaming PC, and I'm working on rebuilding on my system now. Luckily I am on vacation for the next few days. Hopefully I will have some time to play and post my impressions. From everything I have read so far it looks like a good game and am excellent PC port.

Where'd you get the coupon from?

I bought it from GMG, my first purchase from them, and the coupon popped up on their website. $36 with steam code. I've played a few hours thus far.

Personally, I think the game is a bit of a letdown based on the praise in this thread.

It in no way compares to the overall environment quality of GTA, also I find the overall setting a bit disconcerting. Maybe I just 'connect' better to GTA scenes in fake miami and US cities.

My biggest gripe is that there is a very apparent lack of attention to detail. Things like ceiling fans that are identical throughout the game is weird to me, and I pick up on stuff like that. You walk through a restaurant that is super-clean yet the ceiling fan is nasty and dirty which really stands out. There are street performers with obvious 'duplicates' in the crowd. The first motorcycle you get has the brake disc on one side of the wheel but the caliper is on the other side. Advertising signs that continually repeat themselves seem extremely 'cheap' to me and really break from the realism of the game. The supporting characters are just odd and seem poorly thought out. You have meetings in a meat freezer with meat hanging up, yet everyone is eating steaming bowls of noodles around a table in the room (or at least that's how it appears)

The fighting itself is great, I would say better than batman, but I really wish they would've spent more time to overall polish the game before release. At $36 I would say it's fair, at $50 it would be borderline ripoff.

I agree with some of it, but honestly the advertisement thing is a bit of a stretch. Yes... seeing the same ads in different places seems lazy, but is that any different than the real world? They run the same commercials, magazine ads, billboards, etc for months across the entire country.
