Thoughts on these two monitors?

I'm building a gaming rig and trying to find a good monitor for gaming and also for web surfing/using Word (it will be hooked into my new MacBook Air and the gaming rig).

Do the exeprts of Anandtech have any thoughts on the difference between these two HP monitors. It seems weird that the 2310e is a bit older (according to when reviews came out) but the newer ones don't include displayport or have the glowing logo on the back (not that I care about the logo, just seems weird that it is gone).

The two I am looking at are the:

Of course I am open to better monitor suggestions too. These seem good cause they are LED and glossy so colors are really sharp. I'm worried about the glossiness reflecting light, it looks really bad in Fry's but I'm hoping that's cause Fry's uses bright lights.

I'd look into the dell u2311 or u2211, but I like IPS panels. Not glossy, but good viewing angles and color reproduction usually.

Thanks for the rec! I had a tough time debating between IPS and TN. It's so hard to find out what is true IPS, what is a good TN, etc. I've been researching for a week now and feel like there aren't a ton of great choices out there to fit every requirement one has. Like the Dell's would be great except I kind of want LED backlight and glossy for text sharpness, although I fear the reflectiveness of glossy.

Went ahead and ordered the HP, figure I can RMA it if it's too glossy and go with a Dell or something.
