Thread at SA - Payback to someone that is stealing cable

I read the whole thing. I got cut off about page 59 or so in IE...installed Firefox and continued reading. Something to do with the forum limiting page views via cookies, perhaps?

Anyways, hick connected the cable straight to his TV after the first frying (apparently at least one set was still working)...OP made another zapper, did it again, and got a better video this time

It didn't just "shut off" - it died as a result of having 120V applied to the antenna input jack...it's pretty much guaranteed it didn't turn on again after that

the has the coax cable plugged to an outlet. their tv wasn't broken, but now it should be.

Seems like they have some kind of software that will 'lock' the thread to you after you'd been reading for x pages, requiring registration, and it resets after a while. I've gotten to page 88 so far just by reading a few pages and waiting.

the dudes over at SA are morons if they actually think this is real.

You cant see anything in the video except for the tv, everything else is way too dark, it almost looks fake.

how are we supposed to just assume that this guy wasnt just trying to make it look like he did this so he could become popular over at SA??

The reason SA is a cool forum wih fun and interesting things posted in it all the time is because there aren't so many people like you there.

Here's the thread in a nutshell.

1. Guy realizes hick neighbors are stealing cable from him, causing his service to cut out on ocassion
2. Guy is super pissed and advised to spike their cable line
3. Guy builds unit and spikes their line, at 2:40am -- his unit gets busted but succeeds.
4. The next day, a house across from him burns -- he freaks. He wonders if they are related (seemingly, they aren't)
5. Much panic sets in 'till he learns that a) the house was abandoned for 6 months and b) the two weren't related and the cops aren't persuing this as arson
6. Guy learns that hicks have rehooked up the cable to someone else.
7. Guy recruits a fellow goon to help him spike their cable again.
8. This time, goon holds camera at TV, apparently "Mad about you" is on, while guy spikes cable -- it works and picture goes out.
9. That's all so far.

I'm a little leary about the whole ordeal myself. Honestly? I think he's been planning this for quite some time. The sequence of events is just happening way too fast. Oh well, I'm always pessimistic about threads like this one on the internet, after being let so down so many time in the past. It's always someone wanting their 15 minutes.

LMAO.. ending was hilarious. When he flipped the switch it spanked the hick's TV with 110v on the coax input. If it didn't completely fry the TV at least the coax input will never work again.
