Why was this thread locked? I really think people in there should all post shipping included or not included for the sake of conformity, a poll seemed like the logical step to see how everyone felt. Most of these guys won?t see it in off topic and I felt as though it was in the interest of that forum.

Although including shipping prices is helpful, it is not required by the For Sale/Trade rules. My best guess is that the thread was locked since it is not a For Sale/Trade or wanted to buy thread.

Honestly, the think the best approach to take is to simply read the post - if it's doesn't specifically say "shipped" after the price or say "shipping included" anywhere in the post, then shipping is extra.

Another thing to consider: What if I posted an item like a 32x CDRom drive for $15 shipped - and an interested party says okay, I'll buy that and then it turns out he's from Australia and I'm here in the US.. am I still stuck with the agreed price?

Another thing to consider: What if I quoted a shipped price via UPS and the address of the person who wants is to a PO Box - UPS doesn't ship to PO Boxes, so now the shipping is going to be different - so then the price has to be dropped(because of the UPS charges) and re-calculated for Priority Mail or some such.

Point is, the sellers regulate their own posts and how they want to deal with the situations, and a poll isn't likely to make any difference.

Unless it says "$xxx shipped" or "shipping included" or "free shipping," why wouldn't you just assume that shipping is additional?

It costs more to ship internationally (such as to Canada), , we also have a fair number of users who are within driving/pickup distance from each other. So, if I list an item for $100, do I have to then state '$100 shipped continental US only, pickup $-10'? It just doesn't work to force all prices to include shipping. Anyhow, is this really a big problem?

Different shipping mothod usually has different rate, and sometimes it cost more to ship to certain places.
I think the best way to do is simply make sure you have said either $xxx shipped or $xxx + shipping.
