1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
I tend to multi-task a lot - mostly workstation type activities, with a bazillion chrome tabs open, discord. I run 3 screens, if I game, it's usually on the central monitor which is a 3440x1440, using RTS games, Civ 6 - and I run Asheron's Call, in windowed mode, with 3-4 instances sometimes. I also run some cryptocurrency clients. I like to be able to play video/youtube on one screen, while working/playing video game on the center screen.
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
I haven't really thought of a budget, but I'm planning on doing the Threadripper 1950X for $999, and I'd like that to be the most expensive part. I've never spent more than $500 on a video card - never really felt frame rate limited in the past.
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
USA
4. IF you're buying parts OUTSIDE the US, please post a link to the vendor you'll be buying from.
We can't be expected to scour the internet on your behalf, chasing down deals in your specific country... Again, help us, help YOU.
5. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
I'm an AMD fanboy, but I'm also practical, so my current build is i5-4670K. I am pretty stuck on Threadripper for this build.
6. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
Monitors: 34" 20:9 Dell, and two 24" 1920x1200 in portrait.
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
I usually overclock, but nothing crazy.
8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?
3440x1440 (for games) + two 1200x1920.
9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.
Ready to order now.
10. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?
Nope
