1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

I tend to multi-task a lot - mostly workstation type activities, with a bazillion chrome tabs open, discord. I run 3 screens, if I game, it's usually on the central monitor which is a 3440x1440, using RTS games, Civ 6 - and I run Asheron's Call, in windowed mode, with 3-4 instances sometimes. I also run some cryptocurrency clients. I like to be able to play video/youtube on one screen, while working/playing video game on the center screen.

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

I haven't really thought of a budget, but I'm planning on doing the Threadripper 1950X for $999, and I'd like that to be the most expensive part. I've never spent more than $500 on a video card - never really felt frame rate limited in the past.

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

USA

4. IF you're buying parts OUTSIDE the US, please post a link to the vendor you'll be buying from.
We can't be expected to scour the internet on your behalf, chasing down deals in your specific country... Again, help us, help YOU.

5. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.

I'm an AMD fanboy, but I'm also practical, so my current build is i5-4670K. I am pretty stuck on Threadripper for this build.

6. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
Monitors: 34" 20:9 Dell, and two 24" 1920x1200 in portrait.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
I usually overclock, but nothing crazy.

8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?
3440x1440 (for games) + two 1200x1920.

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.

Ready to order now.

10. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?
Nope

Here are my thoughts on cases- currently leaning towards Phantek Luxe Tempered Glass

That does sounds pretty sweet.
Any reason you choose the Taichi over the ASUS Zenith (other than price)?

Not sure why 2x8Gb memory configuration. If you're determined to stick with 16Gb of ram then 4x4 would be a better option for threadripper.

If I was doing a Threadripper build I would go with at least 32GB of memeory.

Sure, if you don't mind paying for it. Samsung b-die is still the best option for Ryzen/Threadripper. Just don't expect to clock a dual rank kit like that one to the moon. You'll still be somewhat limited in how high you can clock compared to single rank kits.

I have a 4x16 GB 3200Mhz Corsair Vengeance LED kit running in my Threadripper rig at the moment, but it won't let me get past 2933Mhz quad channel...at least not with current AGESA code. My sticks are based on SK Hynix chips though and like I said, Samsung b-die chips are preferable.

Love your sig btw. lol

Everything looks fine to me, but that rig is sure is pricey.

Yeah... I used to buy more more on the value side of things. Probably why I'm an AMD fan. That made a lot more sense when I upgraded every 6 months. Now, I'm far more limited on time than money, so this is what happens.

Yeah but we don't need to upgrade every six months or even every few years now. Well CPU wise anyway we don't.
