It seems that cooler does the job well. So XFR is 3.6? I thought it was 3.5, just like 1700X
Not to be dense, but not sure what you mean by XFR is 3.6, but thats what it appears to be running. I want to run some power tests before I OC, and firestrike !

Well, 3dmark was timespy, not firestrike, and I got 10,247. Going to try some F@H for power tests, then OVERCLOCKING !!!

LOL, this is not gonna happen.
G.Skill is showing the clock limit of such a config IMO @2933 :
http://www.portvapes.co.uk/?id=Latest-exam-1Z0-876-Dumps&exid=threads/threadripper-builders-thread.2512631/page-16#post-39033528
which is still amazing IMO just not 3600. What I want to know is what is the clock limit of 8x8GB SR and what is the clock limit of 2x16GB and 4x16GB. Essentially, we need someone with top spec 8x16GB modules and possible even 8x8GB to drop the details of such arrangements. Sadly for the 16x8 (128GB) that's like $1400 worth of ram but I know there is a Mr.Money pants lurking around here somewhere.

If we get the bases covered on
32/64/128GB ram combos on 8GB SR and 8GB DR modules on highly qualified ram that'd actually be a valuable review detail that none of the review sites provided.

I'm running two of these kits:

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengea...66mhz-c16-memory-kit-black-cmk64gx4m4a2666c16

Have not changed timing from auto.
They will do 15-15-15-34-1T at 2666 stable on a 6950x at 4.3GHz though. (43x100 / 4.3GHz cache)

On AM4 four of these could only do 1866. 2100 would post but hang when loading OS.

This platform is what the wolf called for!

Hopefully ASUS will have a true workstation board but the Zenith seems nice so far.

BTW at 100x40 I'm getting just under 3500cb in cinebench 15!

Oh, are you not able to run firestrike with the basic version? I had wanted to see your SLI results with TR on firestrike. Good marks for Time Spy though, since I know that's a CPU test!

What cooler are you using this time around?

Artic freezer 360 with 6 fans in push/pull.

Update. Idle watts from the wall, TR and 2 1080TI cards with fans@80% all the time, 180 watts.

Load both GPU@100% running F@H, and the CPU running prime95, 680 watts.

Does Timespy not support SLI? That is less than I get with a single 1080 ti.

Good work @Markfw. Keep the benches coming. Interesting results.

Yeah, non samsung b-die sticks are finniky with ryzen.
What you've detailed confirms that to an even further extent w/ threadripper.
1866 clock restrictions on Hynix and only 4 of them work cotttdam.

Ryzen is a finicky mistress with RAM. Threadripper is downright intolerable unless you buy it premium samsung b-dies

Not my screencap but ...
8x8GB @ CL16 (16-16-16-34) @2933 (3066) confirmed

I think I can live with this and am comfy w/ 8GB sticks for now...
Gives me the ability to run 3600@CL16 (8GBx4) or 3200@CL14(8GBx4) and if I go 8 you drop down to 2933/3066 @ CL16 or w/ possible better timings.

Are there really any differences in mobos currently? Not sure which one to get. I can wait a bit for stock to return as I want to wait on the newer gskill threadripper memory posted a bit earlier

Mine is arriving Wednesday.
Thanks IEC, mine finally switched from "Packaging" to "Shipped". I was just getting impatient.

I hope not! I ordered a 4x kit of HyperX Predator, which is SK-Hynix. The QVL for the MSI board has it running at 3200Mhz but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

First benchmark@first overclock@4.0 ghz

Edit: Ouch overclocking from 3.6 tp 4.0@1.3 vcore put power from 680 to 900 watts !!! I may go back to stock

That is with both 1080TI's doing F@H@100% and 79c, taking vcore down

Edit 2: 1.25 vcore still stable, and 68c instead of 78c

That score score almost equal to 7900x @ 5.982GHz on LN2 (3333) from hwbot. Sick!!!!!!

Anything higher than 2666 results in instability. Over 2900 results in mem post code error. 2666 15-15-15-15-35 working. This is (8) 16GB modules (128GB) 100x40. Vcore AUTO and it's around 1.45V! I never use AUTO in the past with X99 so as typical Asus AUTO is really pouring on the VCORE.

It's set to AUTO but runs around 1.34 and up to 1.41 under load. Have not run a real stability test on it. TBH, don't trust the cooler for long runs! The plate isn't covering the IHS and dies completely.

I did try 1.3 vcore manual and it locked up in the middle of cinebench testing.
That's going to be a trend with so many cores on a relatively small package.
Wait until Intel releases their 18 core part! The only way that's going to o/c past 4GHz stable under load is with a really good block and probably need sub ambient coolant!

Even stock these are nothing to sneeze at just on brute force alone.

Before I go to bed, I would like to make a point to all reading this, With a "good" hardware config(3600 ram), and a $120 AIO cooler I now appear to have beaten (per anj2208) "a 7900x @ 5.982GHz on LN2 (3333) from hwbot." with my 3408 score. If this is correct, even I am astounded, especially since I did this on a 10 minute OC. (4.1 ghz @ 1,35 vcore).

Please reply with any CONTRUCTIVE comments.
